  • Oh man, someone should have posted that at…
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/330002?page=2#comment-5086…

    lol :+)

Genuinely good price - very good, is this not a mistake?

  • Says these are located in AUS , so no import taxes for over A$1000?

    • +2

FYI, if products is above $1K, DS/Kogan will delivered them from Melbourne. Hence, no addition GST to be paid.

      • +1

It means he had to pay the GST himself in order to get them into Melbourne right? Do you think he'll have passed on the GST in the price?

If the stock is sitting an Melb, shouldn't the invoice have GST included since technically you're not importing it?

Next year, will all of Kogan's stock be sitting in a Melb warehouse since there will be GST on every import?

  • thats pretty good then.. thanks.

  • Are these 2017 version?

    • +4

Yes, there is only one version of iPad Pro 10.5" so far.

  • Gah why don't they have the 256gb wifi… the one model I've been holding out for.

  • Sorry, just need to ask again about Warranty with Apple Australia or Kogan? (Wifi version)

    • +2

Warranty is 1 year standard Apple international warranty.

What you miss out on is Australian Consumer Law coverage. To allow for this Apple provide two years warranty for items purchased in Australia, (in fact you may get more more if you push).

    • Couldnt it be argued this was sold by Kogan Australia and thus they own you Australian warranty ?

  • +2

Shame the 64GB is only in Rose Gold. I want a Space Grey one!

    • +1

I prefer the look of the silver but I think the black bezel on Space Grey might possibly be better for watching movies.

  • +1

Any issues with buying the cellular version? e.g. 4G in Aus, Applecare?

    • +3

These days it really boils down to two variants, a. US model and b. Sprint US and Rest of world.

So you're pretty safe. Even the US one will generally work on most networks.

      • Thanks. Great price then.

  • My word. That 10.5 is a mind popping tablet, at that price just go for it.

  • Does 10.5 have a physical home button or pressure sensitive "button"?

Does it have a headphone jack? If so, can they be taken seriously when they claim removing it was to move the industry forward from 3.5mm to the "superior" BT standard?

What bands do HK cellular models have? B28?

    • +2

It's a real button and it has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

      • +2

Were they only bluffing when they said 3.5mm is an ancient, outdated format holding us back from progress, that needs to go?

  • Shipping is at least three weeks away!

  • No TRS then?

  • Thanks - ordered 64GB. Hopefully, delivery will be on the early side of what is suggested.

Does anyone know whether these grey import iPads qualify for AppleCare?

  • Has anyone had any issues with the iPad pro and Pencil?

I bought these, and have had system issues - Pairing - with both items.
Contacted Apple and they've said the items are out of warranty because they were purchased a year ago.

Pencil wont connect to Ipad Pro. Contacted DS through ebay and website, havent received a response yet.
    hopefully will be replaced soon.

I have never had to deal with DS/Kogan support. fingers crossed.

    • I have the same issue. Regarding the warranty, have you check https://checkcoverage.apple.com/au/en/? Mine seems correct (one year from the time I activated the ipad)

      • Same issue with warranty or the pencil?

My pencil wont work at all, so i am taking it into Apple.
DS support have emailed back and said they will send out a returns pack, which i will send, they will test, then if they find fault, they will replace, else, they will send back the same item and charge me shipping.

Apple store will check out my ipad today, i am also taking the pencil to see if they will do a quick test. hopefully even a swap out, i doubt it.

This is why i dont like shopping for tech stuff online.
I have to wait atleast 2-3 weeks for resolution with DS support, with shipping etc. Esp since a new one will come from HK.
I needed this for my new job which is starting next week! lol

        • Issue with pencil won't pairing with ipad pro. When it plugged into the lightning port, it connected for little while and then disappeared. I made a reservation with Genius Bar on Friday, but haven't contacted Dick Smith yet. Really hope they will replace everything for you in Apple Store if they are faulty, so you don't have to wait for replacement from Dick Smith and use them for you new job. Please let me know how are you going today

          @teje:
Ok so a couple of things.

Genius Bar genius looked at it, the serial number on the box they sent, did not match the serial number on the pen.
The pen and the box it came in, was sold in HK over a year ago, and is hence NOT covered by warranty.
          Replacement at apple is 140$
Basically, theyve sold us duds that, either have a battery failure, or a bluetooth failure.

DS support have sent out a returns bag. which they with test, and if it fails, then replace. if not, they will charge and send back the same one.

I tried an apple pencil from the apple store, and it worked perfectly fine. i tried a friends one, and that worked also on my ipad pro.

So, moral of the story, go online to apple's page where serial number checks are, and run the serial number on the pen - if its like mine, it will say the warranty has expired. if it IS covered, then you are lucky, and you will get a replacement at apple.
Worse case scenario, DS tries to screw me around, and i will have to go to Paypal and get a refund with Apple's proof that they tested it and it does not work and is out of warranty, and is NOT BRAND NEW!

          Good luck,
