Mountain Dew 36 Cans: $16.98 - Woolworths (Starting 25/10)

440

36 cans of Mountain Dew for $16.98 at Woolworths this coming week.

This is not in the catalogue, but as a staff member I saw 60 cartons of MD come in today and was told it starts on Monday. I already grabbed a carton, so I'm sure if other Woolworths/Safeway around Australia have received their supply today also - asking a staff member to grab you a carton will be no hassle as the price is already set at $16.98.

This is a pretty special deal considering it is hard to find cartons of Mountain Dew cans anywhere, especially for a price like this.

Do the Dew!

Reminds me of a classic Simpsons episode where Homer approaches a street vendor for a drink (ref. IMDB)….

Homer Simpson: Now, what do you have to wash that awful taste out of my mouth?

Street Vendor: Mountain Dew or Crab Juice.

Homer Simpson: Blecch! Ew! Yuck! Sheesh! I'll take a crab juice.

Mountain Dew is probably my favourite soft drink in the world, behind Dr Pepper and Cherry Coke.

      • Ohhh yeah! :D

Well at least you can now buy one of the three at a good price….DP and CC are ~$3-4 a can here in Syd (at US import stores).

        • That price is for a 355mL can too. The difference between that and the 375mL cans we have here is quite surprising.

Wow, you guys are getting ripped. Last time I went, some asian-owned lolly shop in Frankston VIC was selling Dr Pepper for like $2 or $2.50 a can.

mmmm doctor pepper, i cant be bothered tho usafoods on the opposite side of town

      • Dr Pepper ftw

  • Oh my freaking god!

I'm going to buy a pallet worth in preparation for Cataclysm!

    • Don't you get a significantly better dollar to litre ratio from buying 2L bottles?

      • +2

Cans, drink then throw in the bin and your done with it

        • +3

Yeah. Pretty much no matter how fast I consume any 2L anything, even with many people at a party or something, the last glass sucks. Cans are awesome to the last mouthful.

      • +2

I find cans to be more convenient and taste much better. Depending on how fast I drink 2L bottles, the last 25% of the bottle would generally have a reduced quality from the constant use or from being in the fridge for a few days upon first opening it.

The convenience comes from reduced clean up from cups, grabbing a can and heading out, and for having friends over.

  • Mountain dew with no caffeine is a fail

    Bloody Yanks get the best.
Even their Creme Soda has caffeine in it.

They also have high-fructose corn syrup.

This comes in at 79.5cents per litre with the convenience of cans - so a Bargain!
But for those that cant source them at their local Woolies
    Coles currently has 4 x 1.25ltr Mountain Dew for $4 ie. 1ltr for 80cents

Your math is a little off.
      Each can costs 47.166.
There are 2.66 cans per litre.

This comes in at $1.26 per litre

AND we in SA get 10 cents per can desposit, so the case costs $13.48

        • +1

Good ol' SA cans recycling, I should take mine to the local scout recycling centre soon, I should get enough from there to get another 36 pack of Mountain Dew! FTW!

        • Actually it'd still work out for like $16.98. We pay an addition 10 cents for the can and we refund it to get the 10 cents back (that's why cans and bottles cost more down south). Well you can always import empty cans to SA and cheat the system but I think Seinfeld covered that.

      • Heh! So it is!! Coles it is then!

Love MD, but really hard to find them in cans anywhere around my place, except KFC.

  • Not a huge fan of MD, but any good brand of drink at 47c a can is great. Bring on the Dew!

Local safeway has them out on display at this price, got one this arvo.

  • +3

Haha anyone remember the urban legend that Mountain Dew lowers your sperm count??

If it's true, then at 47 cents a can it's gotta be the cheapest contraception method out there!

(Btw, no it is not true- the claim was attributed with dye yellow #5 but there has been absolutely no scientific evidence proving these claims)

    • +1 for the lolz

  • The Safeway(Woolworths) I went to on Friday had like 50 cubes of Pepsi Max at this price, no Dew to be seen. I need some cheap Mountain Dew and Solo now that summer is coming. Will have to check some other stores.

  • I can't drink this because it reminds me of Mountain Dew Mouth when I drink it.

good thing we don't have caffiene in our mountain dew

  • No luck finding any in Brisbane yet (tried Kelvin Grove Woolies). If anyone manages to find some in Brisbane please post the location!

    • I bought one last night from Woolworths at Keperra. They had quite a few cartons of Mountain Dew and Pepsi cans.

  • Good price if you can actually find a store that stocks the can blocks.
Only thing I've ever seen at any safeway/woolworths stores I've been in ever 1.25L and 2L.

  • Just FYI, Big W (Sydney) had similar special for $14.98.
Not sure when it ends / begins, I saw it just this afternoon.

  • I think this equates to 47cents per can. It's not that great but better than no deal at all. I think the past Pepsi varieties have been 33 cents http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/31964

  • Anyone know where i can find Mountain Dew: Code Red?

  • At my local Woolies, Pepsi/Max is also 36 cans for $16.98

  • Been to 3 Woolies in Adelaide (Marden, Glynde and Newton), only the Newton store had the 36pack Dew, unfortunately the price was $18.98/carton.

    If you factor in the 10c per can recycling return, $18.98 - $3.60 = $15.38 /36 = 42.7c per can.

    I bought 2 packs… :P

  • Odd… the Xbox competition on the bottom doesn't start until November. These must be ultra-fresh! :)

  • bought 2 of them $14.99 each at woolie Preston Vic, still 20+ there,
