240

OVO dropped the price of 100GB prepaid mobile broadband from $100/month to $69.95/month.

Article from Ausdroid

There’s good news for those who’ve already signed up, too. For OVO customers who have already bought the 100GB for $100, OVO will credit you with $30, keeping the company’s Fans First promise.

OVO: No contract, 30 days, and for the very data hungry 2 SIMs @ $69.95 each = 200GB

      • Optus is no contract - it's no different.

Prepaid vs post paid, no excess usage with OVO & great customer service (IMHO) here in Sydney. But hey Ill leave it to the community to provide their perspective - Im biased :)

@MattCEOatOVO: No excess usage is SUCH a benefit. I'm on the $70 Optus 100GB plan (waiting for NBN to be installed) and I am petrified of going over the limit (got 4 kids) as it is $10 for 1GB. I went over the first month by 2GB and had to pay another $20 :(

        • Can you link?

I can only see the 140Gb/mth for 12mths on $70 plan
          http://www.optus.com.au/shop/broadband/mobile-broadband/data…

          Pre-paid is $80 for 14Gb (or currently 14Gb for $30)

        • @tonester: I'm an idiot. thanks mate.

      • Great deal for prepaid Matt. I would say the Optus does have the benefit of shared data. Ovo you would have to swap the sim.

      • Is OVO on the full Optus 4G network? I think this network might be called "Optus 4G Plus" ?
        Are download speeds capped?
In other words is one getting the exact same technical product when purchasing OVO compared to purchasing from Optus?

  • Is there a decent modem to use that's cheap?

    • e5573s is on our site @ $59.00

      • Maybe something more around the $20 mark……

        • I bought this for $29.50 at Big W. Keep an eye out for sales.

  • Optus is 140gb for $70/month - 12 month contract though http://www.perthhacks.com/2017/09/its-time-to-admit-nbn-and-…

    save 5 cents,, bargain!!

Tried with their $1, reception has been so bad,can barely use the data.
Have had optus before and never this bad. Inner suburb Mel.

  • Hey Op, how long until it has to be activted? Can I wait until late Dec? Perfect for hols

    • Appears to be their new ongoing rates, not time limited.

  • why not just sign a $70 per month iPad 5th gen 128GB version with 100GB?

    • 24mth contract?

      • yes, u can also cancel homebroadband too if not downloading a lot, I camcelled a broadband for one place where I stay most and been watching Netflix and Stan and iABC without using a bit of data, 100GB is quite a lot for normal usage

        • yeah iview & netflix inclusion is pretty awesome.
If you needed a new ipad that's pretty good too, especially if you can use the whole thing as a tax deduction.

        • @supabrudda: exactly :)

    • Do you know if the the iPad can be sold and the SIM kept and used in a different unlocked device? Is the iPad locked to Optus network?

      Also, I couldn't find 5th Gen, only 3rd Gen

  • which is from Optus and unlimited streaming video and music too

  • Do you need to buy a new sim or can you transfer from an old ovo sim?

$40 for 40GB and $52 for 100GB across the ditch (NZ)
An unlimited Calls, sms, data mobile plan costs $80 (22GB data fair use, then speeds reduce)
Australia's terribly expensive even compared to little ol NZ.

Does this plan come with calling minutes or is it just data? (Your site uses some scrolling scripts and my mobile device can't scroll)

  • It'd be good if ovo could do data-free iview like optus.

  • CAREFUL: I have been recharged on two sim cards despite having had the auto-recharge turned off and having even asked a rep to check and do it again if necessary. Have e-mailed them and sent the CEO a message and hope that I hear from them tomorrow. Have also requested a charge back with the bank.

    • Seems to be sorted. Manager got back to me today and said they would let the chargeback go through. Very happy with the customer service and the response time.
Can now wholeheartedly recommend (assuming the chargeback will go through).
