      • Good on you mate

Might will get this whilist in discount

        Cheers

      • so if the dock on level 1 and we carry the vacuum to level 2, after finish it will know the dock is on different level and will not comeback to the dock?

but if they are in the same level the vacuum will go back to the dock once finishes to recharge, correct?

but i wish it can go up and down the stairs by itself, safely of course :D

        • If you move it to a different level and it finishes the clean, it’ll say it’s returning to dock but will just go back to its starting point and power down.

If it’s on the same level it will definitely go back to the dock to recharge. If for whatever reason it did manage to drain the battery halfway through a clean, it’ll return to the dock, recharge, then continue from where it left off.

You could always get two at this price and keep one on both levels! :)

        • @Slave1: thanks but our house is small 2 storey not even worth to get one tbh.
maybe yes when sub $200 - one day

  • Surely pet hair destroys these things?

    • Doesn’t for me with two shedding cross breeds :)

    • Two cats + one dog and it's going strong

  • I'm really tempted to get one. But my carpet is dark colour, not black tho. Not sure if it will work … Anyone has experienced having one of those running around smoothly on charcoal color carpet? Thanks!

    • I also have the same question. Can someone who owns these vacuum advise if it will work on dark colored carpets? My carpets are not black but they are dark brown.Thanks.

      • I have a dark purple bathmat which it has no issues going over.

    • +1

It goes fine on our dark slate tiles in the kitchen. However we have small black mats jut outside our side and back doors and it avoids those like the plague. I think it will realise the entire carpet is that colour and be fine. And if not, Maybe you could return it? Not sure on their rules with this?

    • We have dark carpets. When I take it up the set of stairs (base station is down stairs) I put it in the bathroom which has light coloured (travertine) tiles, it goes into the bedroom and study with no problems. These are the rooms with a dark charcoal carpet.

Sometimes I start it in the study itself and close the door so it can do just that room - no problems.

We also have some dark mats on wood just inside the back entrance to the house and it goes over those without missing a beat.

  • This ebay seller is legit, fast service and delivery. I love my Mi!

  • Does anyone else thinks it's a good idea to sign up to a 2yr breakdown cover from Virginia Surety - AU $67.38

  • How close does it clean to walls/corners etc? Does it leave spots you still have to clean manually?

    • I watched a review. They said you will still have to occasionally get into corners to clean that it can not reach.

Hello rep, how about doing a special price today on the Accessory kit you also sell? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Robot-Vacuum-Accessories-M…

  • is it me only or what?
    Code says:
"Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."

    • 6pm-10pm

      • +2

        Ahhh,
getting old. Should have gone to SpecSavers …:)

  • Sooo tempted. But had to justify while my Roomba is still working.

Like the "Don't need any CN-AU adaptor" - AU and CN have the same shape plug.

    • +1

Shape yes, but there are differences that matter. Insulated pins for example. I for my part appreciate that they include a standards compliant cable with plug.

      • good point - is it actually a compliant cable with insulated pins ?

        • Yes, the one I got is. It's got a C-tick too.

  • Is this for timber floor or carpets?

    • Both

I think as the new model to be released soon and the Australian dollar is much higher in relation to the US dollar now, the seller can make the ebay listing price $350 easily. This week, I negotiated a price with the Geekbuying which is quite good. Their base price, excluding the postage, is now US$229 (email offer only), but due to ordering 3x together, I was able to negotiate each for US$210 and they found a good company to ship them to Australia for US$99. So altogether it is US$729 or each including the shipping US$245 or AU$306. So, what you are getting with the 18% discount is the same price. It looks like that the seller’s profit margin is too high if you consider the base price which is US$210 or AU$263 (for him the bulk purchase price could have been around AU$150 and of course he had to pay the postage at a bulk items rate from China to Australia). Australian warranty? Just forget it, you will see if you have trouble with this unit after a month or so (meaning same buying from China, and still you will pay by PayPal). This is not Dyson.

    • +5

I only want one, like most people.
Even if I wanted 3, why would I want to waste my time negotiating to finally get a price that is no better than this deal?
This seller is entitled to charge what he wants, he has to make a profit. If his price is too high, no one will buy from him.

Does anyone have this, and have furniture that is higher than the body but lower than the laser turret?

I have constant problems with my Neato which I otherwise LOVE.. because it wedges itself under furniture by the laser turret which has no bump sensor. For some reason the version they contract manufacture for Vorwerk has bump sensors on the turret for several years but even the latest Neato doesn't. My floor is then also slippery enough (its laminate wood) that it spins the wheels wearing them down when stuck. Quite annoying.

It also seems to be the exact wrong height, my couch and my ikea cabinets are all the exact height to do it.

  • I think I would have a similar problem, as I have balustrades where the bottom rail is 100mm above the floor, so I imagine the body will fit under but not the turret.

I wonder if it is possible to use the app to tell it to avoid certain areas?

  • Can someone comment on the size of the dust compartment? I have a Roomba and I find that a bit small (I have a dusty house)

    • +1

      20cm x 5cm x 5cm approx by eye

It's not massive but neither is the unit. I get about 2 hours (approx 200 square meters) of cleaning then I empty

  • -2

average price, here compare where the cheapest http://chinaprices.pl/product/xiaomi-mi-robot/

    • I think those prices are in US$,mate

    • @razel Congratulations on your finding. Prize: negs

  • Ok - so pretty sure I am buying this today

    a couple of questions

    1. I doubt this would have the battery to do my whole bottom floor, should it only get half way through, will it charge itself and then re-do the rest?
    2. Does it remember what your house looks like?
    3. Can you set the time for it to run (Days of the weeek, timr of day etc?)
    4. Lastly - do you need the accessory kit at the start? or just when stuff starts to wear out?
      Thanks
    • +3
      1. My bottom floor is 70 square metres and it does it all on it's most powerful setting and still has about 30% battery left. If it does run out, it will return to the dock, recharge and then return the place it was previously and finish the rest.
      2. It maps the environment each time it cleans. So if you move chairs, etc. it will clean around them. You can review past runs through the app.
      3. Yep
      4. Just when stuff wears out. The app will tell you, as a percentage, the current wear state of the parts.

        Legend!

        Gold star for you!!

Gearbite needs to give you a little commission for the sale :)

  • Does anyone know what's the minimum height of furniture for this to go under?

    • Vacuum cleaner height 3.8 inches (9.65 cm)

      Thats including the laser turret.

Lower by 1.5cm in the main body i think.

  • Is it possible to use PINCH5 as well to get another 5% off?

    • -2

Is possible, 20 people will already mentioned it…

      • +1

        Not possible. Code doesn't stack.

      • +1

Sorry should be IF possible people will already mentioned

    • not possible for me

  • I got mine, with 18% off.
    Thanks Ebay and bestforapple (rep)

    • Same. Was surprised to see it go from 192 sold to 220 sold in the first minute, and now have it over 300 in 10 minutes.

  • Purchased. Hope it makes it here soon.

    • Just received vacuum today. Did the customary setting up, updating app, charging up.. and tissue over the hepa filter. Will see how this vacuum does in the weekend after i see if i can clear the path for this puppy around the place without tripping on loose wires on the floor.

  • Got one too.. lol.. thanks OP..
Any other good household stuff on ebay like Fridge, Microwave, washing machine?

Im planning to move from a furnished house to unfurnished one next month :-)

  • Grabbed one as well. Thanks for not jacking up the price prior to the event!

    • Arrived today! Super fast. Thanks!
Great work updating this thread with shipping status too.

  • there is another one store is shopping square for $311.x !!!!

  • For anyone on the fence…this is a great product. I got it when it was $380 in July so this price is a steal.

Yes long hair does screw around with the brush a bit but its more of an annoyance for us than a problem.

  • +1

but i just wish anyone has this for a bit longer maybe 6 months or 1 year so we know if this can last that long (or this just released recently?)

  • Got one! Thanks OP

  • Purchased.
    Received it :)
Can't believe it's mapping the floor on it's own, quite accurately too.
In case it helps anyone, another comment on OzB suggested to set the server to China to connect to the vacuum first.

    • +1

Did that. And also to download the english language pack so it talks in english when it needs to tell you something. Liking the find the vacuum feature in case you can't locate where it is in the house/apartment.

  • so the MiHome app keeps crashing at the loading screen - any suggestions? i've just downloaded it so it must be current version, and iphone software is up to date (ISO 11.0.1)
