  • There's a reason why it went from 190 -> 90. Who wants to take a guess?

    • +2

Mine lasted for 2 years and then died all of a sudden. However there is a 3 year warranty so I simply got a new one… And sold it right away

Now rocking an Asus rt68u which has very nice firmware and more features than the average user could comprehend

Still for less than a hundred this is actually still a very powerful / long range router, though it's durability is a little low

    • NBN compatible or not?

      • No.

        • FTTN compatible = No
          FTTP compatible = Yes

        • I stand corrected.

@borgsta: How about HFC? Does HFC use anything special?

      • The answer youre probably looking for is no.

    • I am currently using a TP-Link TD-W8960N with TPG ADSL2+ at home. Is this D9 modem not worth replacing it?

      • -4

For me personally, I will never buy a TP-Link product ever again. I've never not had issues with their products. Also this is router only, not modem.

Errr I think you got confused this D9 modem router with C9 router only :D

        • @edfoo: Oh my bad haha. You are right.

  • any good modem for FTTN and ADSL ? with iinet if that info is needed

    • Its no good for FTTN. It is good for ADSL.

      • thanks.

    Holy shit thats cheap!

    Thanks OP. Bargain

  • Can this be used as pure switch and wireless access point. I.e. all routing features turned off?

    • yep it can…i have the c9 and that's exactly what I've done

    • Yes just like any other router all you need to do is put it on the same subnet as your other network (so you can access the config page) and disable DHCP then setup the wifi and plug your devices in

  • Damn it I bought this 6 months ago for $190. So far very happy with it, range and reliability much better than my old billion router that gave out.

  • what's the difference with this and the D&?

FWIW, i've had the D7 for around a year. it's not bad.

  • This or VR600?
I wont have NBN until 2019…

    • +1

Hmmm. There might be something a lot better than the VR600 by then, so buying this in the mean time is probably not a bad choice.

      • Cheers! Bought one
