Good stuff. Need to wait to see how reliable/durable these are. Aren't many electric mops that last. Would rather deal with local sellers in case I would have to RMA.

Oh, thought this was a steam mop. This just seems to squirt water while the pads scrub.

i'm not asian but i spent over $1000 on a bidet and haven't regretted it for one moment… seriously, don't knock it 'til you try it. the enema function is particularly awesome (once you get used to it) :-D

I bought one immediately after a visit to Japan. I'm not Asian. I love my clean ass. Here's a tip, try defecating on your arm and then wiping it with toilet paper. Let me know how clean you can get. The sweet smell of success!

@Daabido: It starts with a feeling in your tummy. Then you simply push using your abdomen and diaphragm muscles. Try watching dogs do it. Then just put your arm there.

I can do it on your arm if you want.

        • Try washing poo off your arm while blindfolded. Let me know how clean you can get it.

Neither method (paper or water) is perfect. If you want perfection you would need to employ a Groom of the Stool. The closest we would get is concluding clean-up operations with wet wipes but they are a disaster for sewers and the environment.

What I find more weird is that despite being the first world, Australia is relatively backwards in the toilet hygiene department. I never understood why one would think that using paper was a perfectly acceptable method of cleaning your arse.

I prefer a bidet, or even a water hose. Simpler in construction and much less things to fail over the long run.

        • It should be mentioned that the Chinese mocked the Japanese for their electric toilets. Now they are promoting the idea of sophistication, so they are beginning to use them. It's only been a recent change. Still too many squatting holes in China for my liking.
