  • I'm going off ozbargain now

So did you guys end up getting your fire door compliance since June?

    • on the pdf it says:

      Fire Protection
Alarm and Unlock if temperature reaches
      above 60 Degrees internally

      • +7

So you could force unlock it by burning the lock? Hardly seems secure when the master key is a blowtorch

        • LOL

  • wait so from inside room we still need to enter code to open the door? its better if we can set which side is inside handle so the lock will always open from that side.

    • Yes that is what I am wondering. I tried a Lockwood one and default was to open from the inside with no code.

    • No, you just open the lever.

  • doooh when we can have chip inserted under skin so i can just tap the handle to unlock.

  • Where can I apply the discount code?

  • I wish there is video to show how to install and use them

  • Bugger, I just bought two of these. I'm only using them as internal child proof doors.

Good build quality and pretty easy to install despite the brief instructions.

Only thing I don't like is that you can just pull the door closed from the outside. To close the door you have to enter the code from the outside then pull it closed while it's 'unlocked'. It's probably some fail safe to make sure you don't shut the door without knowing the code. I would rather be able to use the internal handle to 'unlock' it and have a few seconds to close it from the outside without having to enter the code.

I'm pretty happy with it but I'm dreading the day it has a fault and I can't get into the room. When normal handles break I have been able to coerce the latch back with hard plastic shoved into the door jamb but that won't work with this sucker. Unless it's fail-safe instead of fail-secure.

    • Thanks for that info. I agree, not being able to just pull it closed from the outside is a bit weird, probably a deal breaker for me.
