  • might be able to use the 24% discount giftcards from cardlimbo to pay for meals etc

  • +3

$^$%^#!!! I payed $750 for 7 nights no refund for Pullman Bangkok over xmas / new years. Under this promotion its showing as $430 for the same room / dates. FML… To accors credit its pretty rare that they haven't blocked out xmas and new years. Great deal..

    • +1

      haha that sucks. gg

  • How would one apply for one of these cards?

    • AFAICT you get A!Club membership with your first stay. If you find out otherwise, let us know, I wouldn't mind getting in early.

    • i got mine through this deal, not sure if its still valid
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29843

      • Me too. thanks OP and thanks to the person who posted the membership deal.

Validity dates for this and the malaysian airlines deal don't match up though. If anyone can match this deal with another flight deal then please post up

      • Thanks, used the platinum code. Let see what happens.

        • Thanks. I used the platinum code just now. I can see the platinum status on my profile, but it shows "0 A|Club points".

One of the comments on bel13884's link above said:
"A|Club Platinum status With 60 nights or 25,000 A|Club points."

Does it take time to update the points? Any idea?

        • That code only gives you platinum status. You still have to go earn the points to do something with them. :)

I'm not sure what happens in a year when I certainly will not reach those thresholds, whether I get demoted or stripped of my rank. :)

  • Had already booked as already a member … great deal, I've booked for 3 nights in January … Bargain … am hoping they do it again next year in time for my Melbourne Holiday! FYI they do do this fairly regularly as I've booked half price both here in Perth and in Melbourne in the last year

  • Wow, Ozbargain delivers again! I did see the email from Accor A-Club first though, but to be fair I joined the A-Club through another Ozb deal last year, so full credit to Ozb. Had previously got the Gold coast theme park deal for $99 for a year through Ozb, so was looking for accomodation in Brisbane as opposed to GC as I've stayed there a million times. Scored Novotel Brisbane for $100 a night in peak Christmas period. Talk of lining up the ducks in a row! Now, Ozb please find me some cheap flights Syd to Bris over Christmas.

    • Opposite to GC, late Novemeber to late January is quiet period for Brisbane as it is mainly a corporate market.

You can expect more discount for Brisbane hotels during that period while if you are planing to travel before that, you would struggle to find reasonable rates. This market is under supply

    • lack of cheap flights over Xmas is the only reason I didnt book a brisbane hotel. I'm only looking at around Sydney ones. Shame they don;t have any hotels in the central coast or shoalhaven region as I can easily get there in couple of hours from sydney.

      • Why dont you drive there? You can stop halfway at Tamworth and enjoy 50% discount in All Seasons Tamworth with Breakfast included at $80.

  • I can't find anything on the Gold Coast WHAT SO EVER!For any period. What's going on?

    • Dont think Accor has any hotels in GC, book in Brisbane, same distance to the theme parks.

      • Sofitel and Artique.

        • Yeah too bad artiques not in the list, really nice, stayed there in july on the wotif birthday deal when I got the yearly pass for the theme parks, another brilliant deal from ozb

      • And Laser, I live opposite Dreamworld. Anywhere on the Gold Coast is MUCH closer than driving down from Brisbane.

        • +2

quite happy to stay at your place on a bed and breakfast basis if you are offering ;-)

  • +2

Laser, are you good looking and female?

    • No, on both counts, unfortunately. Would good looking females need Ozbargain? Probably not, but their partners might.

  • I just want to thank thewinchester. You saved me a bundle !
I canceled all my bookings on Agoda, and got Novotel Siam Square Bangkok at 58Aud which is a steal !

  • No Sofitel Melbourne makes me sad :(

Not one hotel in the USA is participating either!!

    • agree… such a fail that it doesn't list American Hotels.

    • +1, no USA :(

      • They are already going broke.

    • Accor doesn't have many hotels in America anyways, it's not their main market

    • the historic Grand Hotel Melbourne - with self-contained split-level loft-style apartment-rooms - is perhaps even better than the Sofitel

  • Please correct me if I am wrong but it does not look like they have any hotels on Great Ocean Road.
Preferrably somewhere between Mt. Gambier and Portland.

  • How do you book? I see the 50% off logo next to hotels but when I click on "Book" or "view rates" it doesn't apply the 50% off??? I only see the normal rates….

I have followed the link provided on OzBargain and put in my membership number

    Thanks

    • Are you sure the dates are between December 12, 2010 and February 12, 2011? If not either you may be booking on a busy date (Christmas/New year?). Some hotels aren't included.

It worked fine with me even without a membership number. Good luck!

      • Thanks for that tip!

I was looking for Christmas and New Years so thats why it didn't show

      • I tried Christchurch. 3 hotel showed up for Jan 21-23.

        ibis Christchurch - 54 (deal) / 84 (without deal) —-> 35% discount
        Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square - 160 / 160 —-> No discount
        All Seasons Christchurch - 91 / 91 —-> No discount

All per-night rate. All 3 hotels included in the participating hotels list.

        I don't see 50% discount on any. :(

        • it's 50% discount on the "best unrestricted rate", which is usually a bit more than the "cheapest available rate" (eg. Hot Deals)

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I was going to book my Tokyo accomodation last night for this very hotel.. but ended up being too lazy - and Today I come on to see this deal. I'm stoked!

  • Just signed up to A-Club online and when i placed the card number on the front page, it won't recognise it. Does it take 24hr for it to be activated?

    • took about 8hrs for me.

  • i tried to search for hotels in thailand
it looks like the price are same as in expedia.

  • what are the benefits of

    a) booking a hotel with platinum A-cub cards

    and

    b) Having a Platinum A-club card when in the hotel.

    • AFAICT having a membership lets you access the offer before the rest of the world as mentioned in the description. Certainly I was able to book a half-price room with the number.

I would guess that if you have points on your card you could get some perks when at the hotel. Since it's my first time, I won't receive a card until I have actually stayed there, so it makes no difference to me.

Anyway the loyalty cards are free, just an upmarket version of coffee cards. Though there are other cards that have fees, and presumably you get benefits with those.

    • +1

From when I worked for Accor, this is what I know:

Platinum "benefits" at the hotel only applies to Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery brands, and gives you benefits like late checkout, welcome drink & gift, free upgrade. You don't get anything extra in any of the other brands like Novotel, Mercure, etc.

Also, many hotels are reluctant to give you these benefits, unless specifically stated showing your Platinum card. And definitely won't give you these benefits if they don't participate in the AClub program, eg. Sofitel Brisbane, Sofitel Gold Coast.
      Info: http://www.a-club.com/en/membership-levels.html

Your only real benefit (if you can call it that) is you automatically get 2x points for all stays with a Platinum membership.

  • Hi, has anyone here ever stayed with Accor hotels with 2 adults and 2 children. If one of the children is 3 years old and will be sleeping with the parents, do you need to include it in your booking? I've created a new thread in the forum so please help out with my search. Thanks.

  • Thanks OP for this! Booked it last night just before the closing time and paid less than $100 for a Sydney cbd hotel at Christmas, brilliant!
