i have a citibank card and worked for me

      • maybe its just me then. Used my CBA and ANZ ones and doesnt work :(

        • Could be because citibank is US. It wouldn't work for me either

        • amex doesnt work too. Payment method does not match country

        • @Suckerzpayretail: Citibank doesn't work

      • Perhaps a targeted type deal listing EC?
With details regarding USA payment method?

      • Does that card also work on the PSN US store?

  • It didn't accept my 28 degrees, amex velocity and citibank signature.

  • Didn't accept 28 Degrees or Citibank Debit card.

  • Payment method does not match country
To sign up for Amazon Music , the payment method you use must match the country the subscription is associated with. Please add a new payment method or cancel .

  • Didn't work for me, ANZ Bank Debit Card.

    Here's what worked for me:
    1. USA VPN (not sure if necessary).
    2. Google for a "USA test credit card", easy.
    3. Add test card to your payment methods along with a USA address.
    4. Sign up to trial using MUSIC1.
    5. You will get an email saying there's a problem with your payment method.
    6. Go to https://www.amazon.com/gp/dmusic/player/settings and change payment method to your real Australian card. This page is also where you cancel the trial.
    7. You should then receive a "Benefit Confirmation" email.

    • Thanks for that interweb wizardry!

That method worked for me, you have already earned your gold star for the day 😄

    • Worked for me too!

Too bad they dont give you egift card now

    • many thanks

    • Hey I got to step 5. Now when I try to change the payment method to my main AU card, it says "There was a problem with your payment method." Any fixes?

"Something went wrong while applying your promotion code. Please try again."

    weird.

    • It said same to me but they rewarded me with 10$. I think its because you have already applied code before when trying with aussie card.

      • Where do you find the credit on your account?

        • I got that on email.

Thanks for starting a free trial of Amazon Music Unlimited. As part of our limited time offer, we have applied a $10 Amazon.com

        • It works but just keep in mind that 10$ can only be used for item sold by amazon. Not by another sellers on amazon but only by amazon itself.

    All I get is

"Something went wrong while applying your promotion code. Please try again."

Is this because I'm on a Prime Trial?

  • I'm getting a "The promotion is not valid or has expired."

  • Just signed up and already received the "Benefit Confirmation" email. Do note that I've had a US Amazon account for quite some time, and have several US credit cards and US addresses on the account (we're originally from the US). Did not use a VPN.

Two things to note. The email states:

    "Credits expire on 10/31/2017"

But in the next paragraph it says:

"This reward will expire on October 6, 2017."

Also, under Subscription Renewal it has this:

    "Subscription Renewal
On October 28, 2017, your Unlimited subscription will renew at $0.00/month. The following promotion applies after your free trial: $10 to Amazon.com.
    Do not continue after trial"

Not too sure what to make of that. I do have Prime, but Prime Music and Amazon Music Unlimited are two different things.

    • I got the same message.
I am assuming the reward means the $10 free credit on trials free give out will end on october 6 while your credit is valid till the 31st.

      • I figured that's what they meant, but it's worded ambiguously. I'll probably place an order in the next week to be on the safe side.

The promotion is not valid or has expired

  • "Something went wrong while applying your promotion code. Please try again"

  • Couldn't get it working I get the same error.

  • Payment method does not match country, tried CITIBANK, AMEX

  • Guys, I also got "Something went wrong while applying your promotion code. Please try again", however, I closed that and went to step 3 anyway, it opened the sign up page and I choose the free trial. Once it opened the main user page for Amazon Music, I went to my account and the discount was applied!!!! (it shows on the final step of the checkout process. Enjoy :)

    • which card did you use?

      • Just check what @bobjane posted ;)

  • Just did it and got no confirmation email. No sign of $10 credit, but i have access to the music streaming.

VPNed to New York, can't even apply the promo code.

"Something went wrong while applying your promotion code. Please try again."

  • used VPN to usa and got "Something went wrong while applying your promotion code. Please try again." when trying to apply coupon.

*UPDATE: i applied for the AMU promo anyway despite the error (like @nachotroncoso did) but did not receive the promo credit. Contacted amazon support and they were happy to apply the $10 credit manually.

Like everyone else on this thread, I'm also getting an error with the promo code. Clearly the promo code is no longer valid or expired so this deal should really be set to expired.

  • Also had to get the credit manually.

Just get it from the Live Chat, they're very helpful. Sign up for the music account, and put in your valid US address & card (Citibank AU worked for me).

Then go to live chat and tell them you didnt get the MUSIC1 $10 promotion, and they'll apply it for you.

    • Amazon live chat will do this for pretty much any complaint - but it's probably a harder sell if you are using fake details

  • They applied it manually for me as well. Took about 3 seconds. Probably could have told them that they forgot to apply a $50 credit last year, and they would have applied that too.

  • since its only for amazon items is there any item that is less than a dollar from amazon and not third party? so i can reduce the overall price

  • Can this be stacked with the Assistant $5 credit?

  • Seems to be expired?
