If you prefer faster FEDEX International shipping for $1US dollar more, get it from this deal. (it has not expired yet)

However my recommendation is to buy local stock for $55 and get it with the plastic case as well.

Can vouch for arrow. Great price and wick delivery.

        wick delivery

Why would you vouch for them if they delivered you a candle?

          Sounds like a hot item…

          They're just waxing praise.

    • +1 for element14, got mine 2 days after ordering last time around, really knowledgeable support too. An aussie retailer worth backing.

Just don't forget no PSU(plug) comes with that one standard. (Though when being used around my testbench etc, I just use any 2.4a capable port)

      • If I purchase the Pi3 from element14, do I need to buy this PSU as well? Just want to confirm before I make a purchase

        • You don't have to. You can use any 2 amp tablet or phone charger. Most people should have a spare lying around the house

TopCashBack gives 7% cashback at Zapals, nothing with Arrow or Element 14. That increases the $A saving from buying from Zapals by another $2.50-2.60

    Pi Hole for everyone

    • heh, I got the Pi3 on the last deal and converted the Pi2 to a pihole, seems to work a treat but wont block youtube ads (does anything?)FYI to setup the Pi3 with Kodi I just copied the Pi2 SD card to a new card, stuck it in the Pi3 and updated with Librelec which then went off and updated Kodi as well. Purrs like a kitten with minimum setup hassles (just changed the skin back to confluence.

Setting up the pi hole was just as easy.

      Now I wonder what I could do a another Pi3? :)

      • Hyperion Ambilight, if you are into those sorta things :)

      • I haven't seen a youtube ad in.. years, ublock origin has seamlessly blocked it since day dot, plus everyone should be running that anyway.. win win.

        • I have both uBlock and AdBlock in conjunction (I know kinda ruins the point of using the open source alternative) because uBlock acts a little odd on some websites for me.

    • How effective is it on YouTube ads?

      • It blocks youtube adds on the browser, but not in the apps :( They are still working on it but Google being google know how to get around these things as I guess that's their main form of revenue.

I use my Raspberry Pi 1 for my pi Hole and VPN server. Works a treat. Using my Rpi3 on dietpi as my download manager.

Now what would I use my 3rd one for?

        • Thanks, but I do mainly watch it through the app on my phone and an Android box.

I don't use mine for anything else other then Retropie (previously Kodi) and looking at using a spare for Google Assistant - if I can get my hands on the kit.

@cheepo: Prob best just to pay for youtube red if you are a big youtube watcher like myself.

        • @shtewe:
          👍

        • @cheepo: Kit works pretty well. It's 80/90% the same as Google home plus you can tinker and change trigger words etc. Kit can be hard to come by - I got mine locally of someone for $50! they have been going in USA ebay for $100USD yikes! Dunno if the guy here has any left but I'm happy to ask him for you if you get desperate.

        • @Phil Anthropist:

Thanks but I wouldn't be looking at spending that much on it. The cost of the one posted by knaff is about my limit (under $50AU).

        • @cheepo: No problem. Was just a last resort. Retail kits should be out by 28th Oct although some sites sold out and have increased pre-order allocation so order soon :)

  • Posting here just so I can downvote.
Dealt with zapals on a Raspberri Pi recently, probably one of the worst experiences of ordering from Asia in my life.

Nearly 2 months to my door, terrible terrible support, TERRIBLE just generic "check today" "check again!" replies, tried to do a paypal chargeback and it finally turned up about half way through that.

Worst, just … never ever again.
