        Why no original Seiko box?

        • +2

To save on shipping costs. I got my SNK809 from Skywatches without a box as well.

It is a common practice with most grey market watch sellers.
I believe boxes can be purchased online for a few $ if it is important.

@xywolap: It is a common practice with most grey market watch sellers.

It's also a common practice with most counterfeiters. I'm not saying they are one but simply making a point. It's just that receiving a watch in its proper box is a more 'authentic' experience even if it costs a few more dollars.

@Lps: Best to purchase from your local jeweler then.

        • @xywolap: Why? Creation Watches is a trusted dealer. Walk into a jeweller and you'll be forking out around $200+.
The grey sellers are trying to make the price as appealing as possible (ie cheap), so using a generic box is cheap. They are hoping you will actually fork out another few dollars for a gen box. If is a gift or you may resell it, then buy the box. If it is a keeper, who cares about the box. I have several gathering dust in my closet, out of sight out of mind.

          @ilikeit:
          I was being sarcastic. :-)
See so many people wanting bargain basement prices but want 100% bricks and mortar benefits. Sometimes we have to sacrifice something small to gain a lot with bargains.

@ilikeit: I think you read that comment a bit too literal, lol.
Edit - Beaten to it by the Op.

  • Does the code only apply to this watch?

    • The CLEAR code for 10% off applies to all watches on their clearance list.

Have a look at the side view of the bracelet and just be aware that the bracelet has folded links and hollow end links (the part next to the watch head). These are found on low-end watches and are characterised by being noisy and pinching arm hairs. I'm sure it would look great on a leather or other type of watch band though. I'm not suggesting that the watch itself is cheap, but Seiko are known to skimp on bracelets to save money.

    • Got mine today. Easy to take a link out of the band. No sign of hair pinching and definitely no noise no matter how hard i shake it. The bracelet looks premium and is very comfortable actually.

Cool. I hope you enjoy it.

Good price Seiko Chrono watch for people with small wrists.

Just noticed this 42mm Seiko Chrono that seems cheap -
    Seiko SKS399P1 $110.66 + $13.18 shipping = $123.84
    Only 3 in stock.

Note down the bottom of that listing.. "Excellent ex-display watch"

      • Ah well spotted, I didn't see that.

They have a 100% feedback from "52,000" ebay sales so I would guess they must be OK :-)

    • I would not want a watch any larger in size even if the current trend is for oversized watches. Perfect size imo.

  • Cost was $77 USD after discount. Brings it down to under $100 AUD if using 28deg etc.

It does list that the box is included, and according to their eBay pages, it says that Seiko watches over USD $75 come with the box.

    • Got mine today.. yes included box, instruction book and warranty book and Seiko warranty card certified by the seller. 10/10 product.

        Awesome as mine's due tomorrow!

  • One unusual thing about this watch is that the second hand is only for stopwatch function. One of the small hands works as the second hand.

    • +1

I got mine now (with box etc). That's correct, The second hand is part of the chronograph function. I expected it as I had done some research on a watch with the same mechanics.
