  • ex Adelaide to LA for $900 for the same time period, flying China Air:

But you miss out on Air NZ’s witty safety instructional videos.

You also have to suffer 66 hours of travel time.

But you save more $73… That's almost more than a buck per hour… And, and, AAAAAAAND, longer flight times mean less time needed for accommodation… More savings 😀

  • This is so simillar travel deal with last time but last time was a Busienss Cabin …..

the last one was also a pricing error.

      • did you get it? and cancel the order?

        • nope missed out on it

That got refunded by Air New Zealand

  • pretty decent prices, Air NZ are great too, just a pity these flights don't work with Velocity points/status credits anymore :(

    • I saw the pretty decent airline self checkin setup in Mel international airport… Gotta try Air NZ

      • my wife & i did melbourne to LA with them 2 years ago ($790 fares) and they were excellent. the stopover in Auckland is so much better than needing to go via Sydney or Brisbane too.

the only negative was the arrival time into LAX was about 2pm which meant the arrivals hall was full, where as the flights that leave MEL/SYD/BNE at like 9am arrive into LAX as some of the first flights so it's usually a little smoother through immigration.

        • We flew with them to LA last year with a 4 month old baby and they were amazing. So helpful, friendly and accommodating.

    • Yeah, and the lack of lounge access for half the flights now. I booked one on the last sale, just before Velocity ruined the relationship. I'll still get the points and credits, but miss out on lounge access to and from LAX. Still, you'll be able to rack up a few thousand Krisflyer miles from this, which are some of the best points out there.

I'm planning a trip in July. Looking forward for those dates to creep further forward:)

    • I will keep an eye out for you :)

    • You will find a lot of these really good prices are outside of school holidays unfortunately.
So if you are mid to late July you might get lucky, but anytime over that 4 weeks mid year is pretty hard.

  • Anyway of getting SG status points and mileage out of this?

    • By SG do you mean Singapore? If so, SQ is in the same alliance as AirNZ, so of course you can get Krisflyer miles and credits.
