Had to get one, don't know why.

    Good as a substitute paintbrush.

Bought two $3 wonderful second hand teddy bears in as new condition from OP shops last week. First shop had 4 to choose from, walked across road & next shop had 10. Ranged from $2-5. And funds go to help others. Certainly better quality & much more adorable than this. Just have to search (I wasn't even looking for teddy bears - but they were too cute), which can be fun.

    • I often grab the suffed toys from hardwaste and collection and out through the washing machine ….only failed once when stitches became undone and machines was full of polyester filling.

I have ordered these bears from china before but they never arrived (luckily cheap), might try again but register this time.

      • +2

Enjoy😁 The advantage of spending the few dollars is a volunteer has already washed the bears & put them in the stores to find. Makes searching easier. No dirty bears for me. But the adventure in finding interesting objects is much the same. (Like finding really great deals here.)

I am a bit wary of soft toys & clothes from off piles in streets. I have paid for overseas trips selling hard waste (easily repaired appliances - $10k of clothes driers, even a bronze sculpture by local artist) I've scrounged off streets. But no Mr Bean bears.

💘 Love the code Obeyteddy 🐻
    I always do.

Got one of these for my brother for christmas last year. It arrived after christmas.

    • +8

I bought one of these Christmas last year (I think it was a sale for the Mr bean one) and it never came. These guys are dodge, they know you can't be bothered chasing it up so they have a field day

      • My Bear made it to customers on dec 20 and never saw him.

      • +2

        same here…never got it

Sounds like lots of people didn't either!!

          From Kupho below

Never received mine either and completely forgot about it so wasn't able to lodge with PayPal once I remembered. Contacted Gearbest but they said too much time had lapsed to refund me….

I didn't know it hadn't been delivered as it was sent as a random present to another state. I didn't follow it up until I went there 8 months later. Obviously the ideal thing would have been to chase them up, but for the sake of going back n forth with emails for a couple of dollars (then probably receive the same reply as kupho) it wasn't worth the effort.

I don't know how the company works, whether all of the items get shipped from under the same roof or a variety of distributors but they would have known. I know a lot of these small packages don't get delivered with hope of people ignoring it but I simply don't like that type of practice…so I would rather just never deal with them again.

It also may be a simple mistake…but on a very large scale

        • @slipperypete:

I actually referred them to the original deal that I bought from where most people commented on not receiving their items…but to no avail :(

        • @KupoHo:
Yep same with me….when did you contact them? I mean how long after you paid for teddy?

        • @slipperypete:
I can't quite remember but I think 7/8 months later lol I think I only remembered because someone else posted a Mr Bean bear here.

That's the thing with buying these Chinese deals…u forget abt them so it's a nice surprise present when you get it in the mail months later lol

        • @KupoHo:

Ha ha…same. Kinda random gifts…clean forgot about the one I sent!!

      • Same got my watch….But no bear :(

    • +1

Ridiculous how many of these deals get upvoted when they're not even the best price.

  • +4

Got 2. My kids have no idea who Mr. Bean is, so will just think I've bought them a crappy teddy…

    • +5

Time to introduce them to MB then!

  • +3

never got the last one. 😠

  • Can't get it to work. Still comes up as $3.99 US for me.

    What am I doing wrong?

    • Have you applied that coupon discount code?.

      • Yeah I just got it through everbuying, couldn't be bothered!

  • Bought these last time. Just double check the dimensions and compare to other teddies/dolls your kids currently have.
22cm sounds big enough, but its pretty bloody small in real life.

It's certainly not the "Mr Bean Teddy Bear" you know from the TV show (actual teddy bear size).

As long as you are aware of that going in, and understand that it looks as cheap as it is then fine. I bought 3 of them last time. Kids played with them for 30min and then that was it… back to the old dolls and teddies.

    • Well you know they are made for little kids.

      • +2

So are other teddy bears. Except other ones are actually plush feel for "little kids". These aren't.

I'm just trying to ensure that people buying these know what they are buying.

I think adults look at this toy fondly because of Mr Bean.
Little kids have no idea who that is, and simply look at the teddy… which is small, cheap, rough, and holds absolutely no sentimental value whatsoever.

    • it probably shrunk from their dryers..

    • +6

My wife gave me a crap little teddy bear as a joke early on in our relationship, and I responded by tying a noose for it and left it hanging by her side of the bed, victim of a teddy suicide. Other bears have been 'drowned' in a glass of water, crushed under a cabinet (for this one I pulled the eyes out a little bit to simulate popping out from the pressure), and left to solidify in some water in the freezer. I think for a few bucks' I'm about to move up to teddy bear self-amputation - I've already got a doll-sized hacksaw put aside. So, thanks OP!

        You're sick… But I can't resist your comedy. Top work +1

You get similar at KMart for AUD 2. IMHO, not worth ordering and waiting if you really need one. Plus KMart version only needs one AA battery which is also supplied.

      • +2

Never seen them at Kmart. Garden section or electrical? I'm thinking if I use rechargeable batteries from Ikea these will work perfectly for lighting up an outdoor area while I'm out.

        • +1

          Camping section

      • +1

how many lumens is the Kmart one (searched their site but could see one).
These things are usually pretty low but the one the OP posted says 500lm which is fairly bright (doesnt mean its good though).

    • +2

Ordered 1. Looks like mixed review but for $1 can't really complain!

    • Hardly constitutes a bargain when these can be bought from ebay at the everyday price of $1.79-$2

    • this was 99cents only a week back with a different coupon code so probably really the normal price.

    • Bought a very bright USB version with 1m cable from Tmart sale a while back for same price. Similar us$0.99 delivered USB light or us$1.58 delivered with cable on eBay

      Tmart description: (currently au$4)

    Ah, Bean

  • +1

The Bean teddy is normally $3.42 when using the Gearbest app. I suppose a saving of 17 cents is still a saving but I don't think it's worth it.

    Thanks but no thanks.

  • Bought one for my dog thanks

  • Ripping off the Mr Bean franchise - with all the usual suckers falling for it again. Easy to see why china will soon rule the world.

    • +1

      Must Obeyteddy😀

  • looks nothing like the original, this one looks dead haha

  • +4

Like a few others, I never received mine from a past deal; namely this one.

    • +1

Nor did mine. My dog was most disappointed.

    • +1

Never received mine either and completely forgot about it so wasn't able to lodge with PayPal once I remembered. Contacted Gearbest but they said too much time had lapsed to refund me….

      • am i the only 1 who received Teddy, anyway the nephew was happy

  • Has GearBest stopped Free Shipping to NZ as I don't see any free shipping option anymore?

  • +1

I never received mine alike others, negging on that basis alone(GearBest can't just keep getting their own way with us).. funnily enough was my first ever order from them, I've received a couple of packages in between but now I'm waiting on 8 different ones (from ozb deals) - longest one ago was 1st of September. Not that it matters but this teddy is only 17 cents cheaper than they sell them normally for.

I also agree with commenters above about getting local stock of the lamp is a better option in this case and also, not much of a saving at all in general.

  • Haha, the green light doesn't take the code, but yellow one does.

  • This bear will have babies by the time you receive it from "GearBest"

  • +3

    "negative vote revoked"

Let me state more clearly then, last time this deal was posted a whooooole lot of people never received their item. It's not a bargain if your money is taken and nothing is sent, and it should be moderated as such.

    • +2

Good folks that try to make others aware of potential problems (by negging a deal) are often the ones that get punished on OzB in 2017. Most of the kids, big and small, on here would rather get ripped off than see someone "hating" on their favorite corporation.

      • +1

Post a deal which is never honoured, after taking payment? No worries have the free advertising.

Vote down a company taking advantage of users in an identical situation and not following through on their end? BAD USER. VOTE REMOVED.
