Why do you need a fermenting fridge, do you live up north?
Nah, in Perth. But it's more the temperature fluctuations that are the pain (and trying to cool a fermenter vessel isn't the easiest thing). So bought this temperature controller, not from that seller but it's the same model, and also then a heat belt and have a full size fridge from my folks that I'll stick in the shed under my patio area. That way, can brew no matter what the temperature is outside and also condition the bottles after they're, well, bottled haha. So it has two functions.
So all up about $150 to set it all up, as luckily got the fridge for cheap from my folks as didn't want one with a freezer function as that's just a pain when it comes to a fermenting fridge.

Big W is better if you can get what you want, though I'm yet to see a better deal on malt.
I'm not a fan of this, purely because in the best possible scenario you will make Coopers.

This is just the base - you add extra malt and extra hops and liquid yeast and it kicks arse.
no one wastes liquid yeast on prehopped extracts
After the first batch you have more liquid yeast than you can use. one batch turns into 2 then 4 etc. Never open a batch of wyeast for just one brew.
A while ago Dan's had a member deal of 1 x Coopers Thomas Cooper's Brew A IPA 1.7kg (pack) and 1 x Coopers Light Dry Malt 500g (pack) for $20.
I usually do the Pale Ale kit, and thought the IPA was great!
Sweet. Last time I was at a Big W I thought they'd stopped stocking Cooper's home brew. Time to stock up for when I get my fermenting fridge going in a week or two :-)
