You forgot to include the main drawcard, the 5300 mAh battery!

    • Added. Thanks ;)

  • The white one is usually cheaper than the black one. I've been following the price of this and this is probably the first time I've seen it under 300. However, we are talking about gearbest ^^

    • Gold is usually cheaper but this might be the cheapest so far for black.

  • Pretty much identical with the original mi max apart from battery ram and gpu and a few other little tweaks

Feels a lot nicer, and has noticably smaller screen edges.

Camera, though still not great, is a big improvement. It honestly feels much more solid.

Still no NFC though. And no longer has variable color notification light, which I miss.

    • And the original Mi Max is not much cheaper.

      • Dam just checked on the mi max have they gone up in price im sure this time last year i grabbed one on special for like $230

  • Op, do you need apply any code? Shows $309.24 for me.

    • No I don't. That's strange. I just tried it again and still showing the same price.

      Screenshot

      • Your screen shot shows email only price… maybe you post link from email you received?

    • $309 for me too

You are right. Could you please try this one? I will update the post if it is showing correct price for you. I have tried in Incognito mode and it works.

  • Price looks good but check out the dispatch time: "Ships between Oct 15 - Oct 27".

Could be 2 weeks+ before it even ships, and that's without any delays.

I bought one last time during the big eBay sale for a few bucks more. Have been using it for a couple of weeks now. Having had Samsung notes and Huawei ascend mates in the past to this phone it does compare well. Obviously not a full flagship killer but for the price who can complain :)

  • Would this be a nice upgrade to my Redmi note 3?

    • +1

I had the Redmi Note 3 Pro. Drowned it while jetskiing in Thailand :( Have been using Mi Max for the past 6 months. Battery lasts longer, the extra size took like 1 day to get used to. Speed wise, same. Feels more sturdier. Chuck on a Nilkin case and you're sweet

  • which one is better for exchange rate, paypal or credit card?

  • no B28 is this correct guys?

  • Whats the better option between this and https://shopmonk.com.au/xiaomi-redmi-note-4x?storage=332&col…

    Cheers

You might want to read this before considering getting that Note 4X there

      • Any better options ?

  • Best case?

  • How significant of an upgrade is this over the note 4x? Obviously its almost double the price, but is it anywhere near double the performance? Younger brother is upgrading his cheap Huawei from the last bargain for high school which has been really good but not great for app/game compatibility… He wants an iPhone but yeah nah not happening. Whats gonna be best for him? Is the 4x decent enough for game compatibility and smooth usability, or do you really need to spend about $300 on the max2 to get a decent phone that's not gonna cause problems? Appreciate the advice.

    • Doing my own research obviously this one has more RAM and Storage, and bigger screen, but same processor, so I'm guessing those are the main considerations. Are they any other important points making this better than the 4x?

      • The main differences like you already pointed out apart from various memory for both is screen size and hence also an even larger battery and heft.

As the cpu/gpu and screen res are the same, so will performance be, even band support similar. Both have B5 but lack B28.

  • Mine just turned up and has a dead pixel top right, what now?

    • Hi @2jzzzz sorry to hear that. I got mine and all seems okay. But i don't do any test … just looking at it by bare eyes. Is your dead pixel obvious or it just turned up on test? Is there any app to do such test? Thanks.

      • Totally obvious straight away. May be more than one pixel, maybe a cluster.

        • Wow … that's bad. I think best to contact with the rep here first.
