This popular ultrabook just got an upgrade to an 8th gen chip, which are now quad core rather than dual core.

Make sure to avoid Amazon's bad currency conversion rates and pay directly in USD with a fee free card such as 28 degrees or Bankwest Zero as it is over the $1000 GST-free threshold if you let Amazon do the converting. As of posting this deal, mastercard rates put it at ~$986.30.

  • Would be interested to see the comparison to the 7th gen beyond processor, if battery life has improved, fan issue addressed etc.

    • Windows 10 stutters on mine thinking of a reformat running latest firmware etc

    • It still is listed as using ddr3 ram wtf

      • The processor can use either low powered ddr3 or ddr4

    • Supposed to be quad core so battery life might not be improved.

    • Not really much, look at a new dell xps https://www.notebookcheck.net/Dell-XPS-13-i7-8550U-QHD-Lapto…

      As I understand in "surfing mode" i7-7560U 655 vs i7-8550U 589

But there is improvement as it's a quad core.

Is the power 120V or 240V or both since buying from US?

    • These transformers usually just have an auto 110/220 switch; cable would be US, although if you have a spare figure 8 Aust cable, it would fit easily into the transformer

      • Thanks mate. I bought some tools before from Amazon US and it came only with 120V. At the end I have to buy a transformer to convert it to 240V
