  Paypal is a scammer and sucker :(

  Sold something on eBay, buyer paid through Paypal. When i wanna withdraw money from my Paypal acc, they closed my account and hold my money for 180 days!!! a real Mother$#$ker. Anyone have the same issue?

    ive sold 127 items on ebay, only 1 of them wasnt through paypal, no issues except for the damn fees

      what sort of items? Mind to teach me how to deal with paypal?
      They asked for my identity, receipt of my products, after a week they closed my acc!!
      reason " risky transaction"… without a single buyer open an dispute or complain. Just dont get it with Paypal!

  Not sure if this is a deal, but in regard to paypal - I use it a lot for selling and purchasing never had any problems (although hate the fees, but must confess like the convenience), but sent in-laws money through paypal (internationally), they tried to transfer money out immediately and the same thing happened, froze his account, eventually the money was retrieved after a lot of hard work.

  I'm not a great fan of accepting paypal as a merchant, but I think its safe to say as a BUYER there are far fewer downsides. Generally 99.9% of transactions are fine, but its the .1% I remember (our experience is over 6,000 eBay transactions in several years)

  My vendor horror stories include:
  1) Funds being frozen
  2) Funds being TAKEN out of my real life bank account by Paypal to cover an issue in "dispute" by a buyer while/before the dispute was resolved.
  3) Account being frozen (thus preventing other people paying me for goods they have bought on eBay) Caused giant problems.

  Having said this the ONE and only time I have actually had a dispute as a BUYER, Paypal REFUSED to cover me under their buyer protection rules as the transaction was via a normal website and not eBay (Paypals owner). To make matters worse as the item was paid out of "Paypal Funds" and not debited from my credit card, I had no comeback with a credit card charge back - So that really got up my goat !

  I think the problem with Paypal is it is operated by robots following policies and not real people using their own intuition to find the real fraudsters out there.

    Is it in their t&c's that they can take money from your account to cover the item still in dispute ?

    Jason, how do you resolve the account being frozen? I am having that problem right now, and they decided to closed my acc. Paypal is just a shit whore.. customer services terrible! they don't even give me a chance to discuss about about matter and hold my bloody money for the next 180 days.

  and their claim about it costing nothing to buyers is a scam, the AUS dollar is almost 1 US dollar but if you buy something in US dollars the 'special' paypal exchange rate is like 2 or 3 cents less!

    usually 2.5 cents less, but I think it's more like 2.5%, still better than some fees some banks charge.
