  • think this might be a targeted offer

  • I received this email this afternoon.

I didn't. This should be tagged as Targetted

I do have the "Hard Hitting Lemon 250mL can at Coles" offer though…

    • +3

I didn't know I could make this Targeted myself. I thought a moderator had to do that. I will edit it now.

      • Just need to report the deal or write [Targeted] and a moderator will check the flag. All fixed up now.

        • +1

Thanks for that. Will note for the future.

I'm glad they're having free trials as I don't think I'd ever pay for something like this without tasting it first.

  • +7

    tastes terrible

I love my Coke Zero type products and I'm ok with coffee. When I tried this a few weeks back I had to stop my body from instantly rejecting it as if it was a poison. It is definitely an acquired taste.
I ended up returning the rest of the bottle I bought and swapped them for Zeros at Coles.

    • My partner who hates coffee likes it. Go figure

    • +1

It tastes like Kopiko Coffee Candy mixed with coke - i think its pretty good

  • I don't know what's worse for you, the Coke or the coffee lol.
Might give it a shot and while I know Coca Cola used to contain caffeine, it didn't used to be a mix of Coke, coffee and caramel. I can't expect this would taste all that pleasent.

  • It's OK on it's own, but it makes a great mixer with rum or spiced rum.

  • targeted offer

Gee they’re desperate since many people started avoiding sugar.

    • I bought some the other day and it tasted fine to me….However, the only reason I purchased it was because of Diabetic family members(I still have no intention of buying it regularly). I like it better than coke zero…

I have received an offer for ginger coke can a couple of times but have not been able to find a single can in store as they are always sold in 6-packs. The cold sections carry just the regular or diet cokes.

This is like heart attack recipe.

This is a truly dumb comment. Excuse me while I take out the cumulative sum of every similar comment by others on you.

This product is unhealthy. It follows packaging/labelling requirements, so this is not a secret. It's up to you to consume it in small amounts or not at all.

Comments such as yours result in stupid products like coke life (1/3rd less sugar, replaced with stevia) where we have NEITHER a good flavour nor a healthy product.

The only real problem is IF a company markets a blatantly unhealthy product as if it were healthy (Boost Juice, I'm looking at you)

    tastes awful

    • Always hit and miss with these products, but I guess that applies to everything….. A sad shame for people who liked the zero offerings tho….

      • Blame the silly portion of consumers. The reason it happened is because too many people didn't realise zero meant zero sugar. Can barely believe it myself. In conjunction with current pressure (not sure by who, I certainly don't give a crap) to avoid sugar, this is the result.

        • We get it, you don't care. The people concerned, who actually know about the issues and have to deal with the problem (read epidemic in the case of diabetes), are fortunately more responsible. The health costs alone, ultimately borne by taxpayers, run into billions. On top of that we have the time, expertise and facilities which could be used better elsewhere. Here's some very basic reading: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-09-29/two-thirds-of-australi…

        • @Possumbly:

No offence, but obviously. And in your argument where is personal responsibility? This is an optional and luxury good. There are healthy alternatives.

I was amused by the concept of the fresh food desert in the article. How sensationalised! Fresh fruit can be bought at the supermarket, the exact same place as coke.

        • @justtoreply: personal responsibility doesn't negate corporate and political responsibility, nor does it take account of the effects of enticement on targeted groups, esp children. Nor does ignoring the problem do anything to resolve it.

  • I tried something similar in France a number of years ago. It’s nothing new just hasn’t been done by Coke here before (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola_BlāK).

I tried this new one and it taste’s the same it’s ok not great.

Again I haven’t been targeted by Coles maybe I need to shop elsewhere for awhile.

  • I did not like it

  • +1

    I liked it, thanks OP!

It's a trap! Bought a bottle to try a couple of weeks back. Takes really really REALLY bad. Like someone mixed dirt and cigarette butts with your coke. You need 3 more drinks of something else to wash down the taste of the one mouthful.

Coca Cola Australia has gone nuts. They follow up Coke No Sugar - which is awesome and a good improvement on Coke Zero with this battery acid.

Pick up your free can and give it to someone you hate.

    • +1

lol i couldn't agree more. I tried to enjoy it and kept drinking it hoping i'll eventually 'like it'. ended up throwing half the bottle out.

  • As a person that appreciate expensive coffee. This drink is abomination of the entire coke line up. I can only see much more fewer people liking this than the coke fans of zeros.

  • I've been to 3 Coles (one of them a smaller one in Sydney CBD) and not a single one of them sells this new Coca Cola. The targeted offer annoyed me more than anything. Get this for free - except we dont sell it nearby :(

    expires tomorrow :(

    • That sucks. We have them for Sale in a number of coles but when I went looking they were all gone. Managed to find one though. Don’t know I don’t you have given up or not but maybe try one more Coles?
