Spinach is the one to buy.

Hey, just noticed some are 310g. That's getting very small.

I thought that too, so I backtracked and checked the screenshot in this deal from 19 months ago and the weights are the same (310g-390g).

I wonder which is the lightweight?

Woolies stone baked ones for $4 are good too. But a year or so the went from 400g to 360g. Their base is better than the doctors I think.

    • Chocolate is the one to buy (for after spinach)
      :)

      • I thought you were joking. Then I checked. Yummy, sounds good to me - the chocolate, not the spinach.

        • Currently $5 in woolworths. Have not seen in Coles (yet).
          Can't see online with either.

        • @battler:

Thanks for that. I checked online and couldn't find. I'll check my local Woolies later today.

      • Does the chocolate version taste better?

        • depends on whether you are in the mood for a main or a dessert.

ALDI still has the Remano Cheese Bases @ 3/$6

    • Yep. Oregano, cherry tomato and extra cheese. Dang fine pizza.

I cannot eat these after Mccain Takeaway frozen pizza!

Recently has been as low as $5 at both Colesworths but usually on special for 6$ down from $8.50.

    • Which Mccain Pizza they withdraw a couple of years ago that was pretty good?

  • are these better than pizza hut/domino's ?

    • +5

domino value range at $5 is better than the ristorante range, ristorante being frozen can sometimes have issue with water as the veges thaw out, dominos don’t have that issue.
but frozen has the convenience factor as you don’t have to go out and pick one up…… i have dominos 200 metres from home so pickup is easy and cheap.

the best frozen are the mccains sour dough pizzas but normally $7.50 and on special at $6 sometimes …… stone oven baked, made in italy , frozen and shipped to australia .

i keep the aldi renmano and bases for convenience, at 3 for $6 they are hard to beat for value and have better texture than the ristorante pizzas though you do need to add some extra toppings.

i have a breville pizza maker, thaw frozen pizza in microwave and into the pizza maker , very quick and great results.

These are shockingly awful pizzas. I made the mistake of buying the ham and pineapple one for the kids. They would not eat it and had comments such as "It tastes like they squirted tomato sauce on old wrap bread." and "I can make better pizza than that."

The whole thing, minus about 5 bites went in the bin. I ended up making home made "pizzas" by using some pasta sauce on Lebanese bread and decorating with whatever was in the fridge. Took about as long as cooking the frozen pizza and ended up being cheaper and tastier.

Your standards would have to be pretty low to be a regular buyer of the Dr Oetker range.

You just described my childhood. Those Lebanese bread pizzas are great!

Just finished my Risorante stock in the freezer. Perfect timing!

    • same here

    • Spam!

  • Best pizzas! The spicey pepperoni is awesome

  • Best pizza stocked in the freezer but usually need 2 to fill me up.
Best one flavourwise compared to all the others in the freezer but shitty value if not on special.
Thin base with little toppings that would fall apart but the sauces on these are amazing and leans more towards the sweeter side of things.

I did like the Hawaii but it makes me thirsty and cough probably because of the pineapple? But otherwise all the flavors are good, seriously can't pick one over the other, but I'd usually go with prosciutto because it has meat on it…

The chicken tandoori pizza in the fridge section of Coles is pretty good at $5

    • +1

Agree - both coles and woolies have some cheap pizzas in the fridge section which are actually really good!

    • Yeah they are also quiet a bit larger in size than the dr oetker's as well, half of one of those will be a meal for me whereas a full dr oetker's would be required to feel as satisfied.

If the crust is too hard for you, put a small ovenproof saucepan with a bit of water in it into the oven with the pizza.
Just be careful taking it out, it will be quite hot.
