Great product at a great price. Purchased mine from Gearbite in a previous deal and it was shipped the next day.

  • Is there any maintenance needed and what might the cost be? Like replacing brush etc?

  • Tried to apply the PUTTY code at checkout, but it is not reducing the price. Anyone having same issue?

    • +1

Still works fine over here, is your paypal and eBay address both the same and in Australia?

    • It works for me.

      • +1

Works now. My residential address had to be changed to Australia. Thanks guys!

  • +1

Any real world reviews of this vacuum

    • +1

      It's great!

    • +1

      +1 from me

    • You won't regret your purchase for sure.

    • best vacuum i have ever purchased

      • Same best investment I’ve made on a home appliance… I got it when it was $380 :( just a note though the new model is already available that’s likely why so many price drops, new one mops also

  • Does it work well on carpet?

    • +1

Reports that I've read on other posts mention that it works well on carpets, just not shaggy rugs.

      • +1

Correct, no issues with our 3 bedroom carpets, but won't work on thick shagpile

        • Hey guys, I'm tempted to pull the trigger but a YouTube I watched says it doesn't work on dark carpet, is this true? If this is an issue, then Houston I have a problem as my house is filled with dark grey carpet. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

        • +1

          @DonIsGood:

Dark grey carpet here and it works fine

        • +1

          @DonIsGood: I don't have dark carpets I'm afraid so can't say

  • +2

Just want to add that gearbite has been great with warranty as well. Highly recommended seller.

  • anyone heard about the new model coming out? curious on whether to get this or wait for the new model.

    • +2

New model is better but twice the price.

    • +2

GearBest ran a promotion for it at $500 USD, while they sell the original for $289 USD. I think it's going to be a fair while before it comes down to a comparable price.

Just get this one. We got it for a 2BR house with floorboards and it's changed our lives. (except we got caught up in the RoboGuy debacle)

      • +1

        thanks! got this one :)

        • Awesome, you won't regret it!

    • +2

I agree. Just get this one 👍

    • +1

New model isn't worth it atm. Even at same price the benefits are minimal at only slight increased in vacuum pressure, some smart phone capabilities like aim cleaning and mopping capability.

Personally I would buy this model and a separate maybe cheaper robot vacuum for mopping functionality but for now not really worth it at nearly twice the price.

  • I spend minutes trying to think of another reason not to get this one. Pulled the trigger and can’t wait to get it soon.

    • +1

Ha. We have a ducted vacuum, standalone Dyson and Dyson stick vacuum. It took me ages to bite the bullet and buy one of these. But I'm so glad I did. Changed my life!

  • all these posts really make me want to get one..
but I have been burnt twice before by robot vacuums over the past 13 years

  • Crap, bought one a couple days ago for more :(

    • sigh….same boat :(

  • Shoppingsquare just posted their offer
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/338070
    $314.45

    • +1

Saw that too, seeing if the rep can drop the price at all :)

  • +2

Price Dropped to $313.95 to beat the SS deal.

    • +2

      Clever work Gearbite!

    • +2

And they’ve just dropped theirs to $313.45 lol

    • I made a purchase earlier for the original $317.86 price. Can you guys do a price adjustment? Otherwise, I would cancel my order…

      • Hey mate, the rep said they would cover the difference, if you want to contact them via PM here they'll be able to sort something out for you.

        • I sent them a PM through ebay. Hope to hear a response soon! Thanks mate!

        • @crimsondarkn:

No worries, they're quite quick to reply so you should hear back quickly!

        • @doweyy: How about those that bought it on Tuesday? :( Paid $16 extra

        • @crazynic:

I don't think that'll be possibly unfortunately :( Because the listing price was lower as eBay only covered 10%, the rep said they would lose too much if they refunded that difference.

        • @doweyy: All good thanks for trying :)

Highly recommend this robot vacuum. It has saved us hours of weekly vacuuming and arguably does a better job than manually doing it because A) It covers every square inch of your house, not just what you can see and places you can't reach e.g. under the coffee table B) Vacuum more often so your house always looks freshly vacuumed.

Best buy I have made this year!

I received mine yesterday from the previous deal. It appears to be really intelligent and I'm liking it already. I have not used any other robots before so this is just my observation on the Xiaomi. Straight out of the box, it started to map the perimeter and started vacuuming the house section by section in a rather logical sequence. It managed to climb through and maneuver itself through uneven surfaces (e.g bathmats) and travelled across areas where floors has slight step/height difference (e.g less than 1 cm in height differences from living room to kitchen/bathroom). It didn't want to go onto my rubber gym mats - not sure if it's because it's black or the height difference is too much for it to handle). However it goes over my black-coloured door mat easily - the only area I don't want it to go onto because we don't wear outdoor shoes inside our house.

    • Black apparently trips the cliff sensors

  • I've been holding back on pulling the trigger on this for so long as we have a giant Maine Coon what leaves massive tumbleweeds of fur tufts.

Can anyone give experienced opinions on how this unit works with long clumpy cat fur, not just individual strands.

  • Does anyone know whats is the length of virtual wall in the accessory pack? I can't leave the vaccumm on its own because it gets stuck on our shagpile and therefore need a virtual wall for the same.

    • 2 meters.

  • +1

How does it work on timber floors? Will it leave any marks?

    • +2

It doesn't on ours that we can notice. It has thick rubber wheels and a plastic castor wheel so may leave rubber scuffs on high polished floors as it turns but we haven't been able to spot any marks in the 2 months we've had ours running for an hour each day.

  • D'oh, just pulled the deal the other day for about $15 more.
Props to Gearbite, was ordered, shipped and received in 2 days.
    :)

    • same here :(

    • Same here. Purchased Tuesday. Arrived yesterday. (Im in Melbourne)

  • Anyone know if gearbite provides a receipt for tax back?

    • +1

Yes you need to send them a pm though

      • Thanks!

  • Do these work good for whole carpeted areas upstairs? Will it avoid going down the stairs and does it move around well on carpeted areas?

    • +1

I bought one this week (sadly paid a bit more before the price drop!).
Set it up last night. It transitioned flawlessly from carpet (3 bedrooms) to timber floorboards and a rug.
      No issues.

  • +2

Haha I knew it! I didn't buy from last deal waiting for it to get cheaper. Time to pull now.

By the way is anyone having issue with cashrewards site? My phone keeps saying it's not private page and the certificate expired… Was not like that yesterday though.

    • yep - i can't log in to website

    • I got that issue earlier running Safari on a desktop using the CR extension but after I clicked 'back' it worked fine and got an email from CR tracking the cashback for a purchase I made earlier in the day.

      • +1

Dunno what the issue was - i was getting it with all browsers at home and via work - but - started working now and I too have gone robo-vac - feel too excited for something with Vacuum in the title.

  • Unrelated, but all my Xiaomi devices have dropped out of the MiHome app. An Android O beta update may be to blame.

  • Finally bought one. Was a bit sad I missed out on the previous gearbite deal. Now happy I waited.

I am sick of looking at my messy floorboards. The dog will be happy as I can let him in more without worrying about all the hair.

    • Now you'll just have to worry about potential poopocalypse.
Remember to turn off if your dog seems under the weather…

      • He does a few bad things but crapping in the house ins't one of them. He lives outside and sleeps in the laundry so getting inside is a treat rather than a right. My main concern is that he sometimes marks his territory inside. Mainly if my youngest child has wet the bed he will mark near it, or if I bring is something new and stinky plastic, he has sprayed on it before. He knows it is bad, I just hope it doesn't short it out if it runs over it.

It is hard to explain to a dog that one family member is allowed to wee in the bedroom but he is not. Seeing as his main job is to protect the house from snakes, one day he may take a bite for us so I can't be too tough on him. Everything in my area is either quite deadly or really deadly.

        • Thanks for letting us know :)

  • Where can we download the English apps for IOS/Android to control the robot?

    • Play store or App Store

  • Why is the accessory pack cheaper at Shopping Square?

    • +3

Because we offer Aussie stock plus Virtual Wall. SS does not include Virtual Wall which we sell $21 seperately. Virtual wall link http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-Xiaomi-Robot-Vacuum-Clean…

      • trying to buy accessory pack after buying the main one…out of stock unfortunately. When will stock for this be ready?

        • +1

Stock will arrive 10th Nov, i put the listing live but only for pre-order. If you not in hurry, you can order and save 15%. But we can only send out at 10th Nov.

  • ok , bit the bullet and bought one , feel like I am missing out seeing as they are all over ozbargain recently :)

  • Pulled the trigger! Thanks for this! I have been eyeing one off for about 6 months and now finally will get one.

  • Interested but concerned about warranty as they are located in Melbourne. Does gearbite cover return postage? Wondering if paid with PayPal whether we could use PayPal return postage…

    • +1

We will cover the postage if item is faulty.

  • OMG just purchased couple days ago with 10% off only.

  • do you provide a tax invoice?

    • Yes, please request by ebay message.

    • Why did you randomly neg?

  • +1

Anyone think that the price will go lower since the xiaomi vacuum 2 is coming out now?

    • Probably
      Buy now or buy later

  • Having to (Kick) Nurse the LG RoboKing Constantly. Purchased this Hoping i can walk away and come back without giving it the DM's

  • Have jumped on the bandwagon. Too many people love this thing to not be tempted. The fact that it's got a HEPA filter and will clean the floor and the air … that's nice! :-)

  • How does this compare with irobots roomba?

  • reviews are too good for this to be an average product. purchased.

  • +1

Those that have purchased this, are you able to tell me if it was charged as an international transaction and incurred transaction fees. Would prefer to use my Amex and earn some points as opposed to my 28Degrees. Thanks in advance.

    • +1

It's ebay paypal transaction, charged A$, no foreign tx fee from last time I bought from them. Sadly I pay $50 more three months back. But well, I at least save three weekend afternoons to vacuum the house monthly!

    • +1

It’s an Australian company so there won’t be any fees associated other than the price you pay.

  • The code would just not work for me :(

    • Just bought one using the code.

  • +1

Thanks. Just ordered the vacumn. Does anyone recommend buying the accessories pack as well ?

  • since everybody is buying, i thought i'll buy one as well :)

Anybody know a clever way of preventing this to go onto a particular carpeted area aside from buying several of the virtual walls or removing the carpet?

The area is quite large and I think i would need at-least 4 virtual walls at approx $20 each to cordon off this area. Seems like a big investment

    • We bought a bunch of door snakes to set up around our rug. Can also use them to section off some rooms we don't want it to enter

  • @gearbite - I've emailed you to cancel an order I accidentally put through without the code. Can you please confirm.

I managed to use the code this morning, and have made another transaction. :)

    • +1

Should sorted out this morning. Please check.
