  • Is it worth signing up for flybuys just to get the targeted freebies? I won't ever spend as much as required for any discounts?

    • +1

Meh it's free. Nothing to lose, everything to gain ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Plus points system means you can get $10 off your shop like Woolies over the long term.

      • Haha true that, how often are people generally targeted you reckon?

        • A lot more often than eBay is all I can say ;) Most of the time it's like $x off shop/Points if you spend $y, fuel offers (10c off/L etc), and also double/triple points on your biggest shop etc.

        • @currentfad: Lol the fam gets double/triple/X bonus points all the time, but can never seem to land any freebies or hardly any.. Might as well throw my hoop in the ring.

Btw I have got targeted more times for eBay ;)

        • @currentfad: is velocity frequent flyer card flybuys? Also what other free flybuys cards are there?

I have a Woolworths rewards card but not any coles rewards or loyalty program cards yet.

        • @AlienC:

No, Flybuys is the name of Coles Reward/Loyalty card system. Just think of Flybuys as Coles Rewards. You get Flybuy points from shopping at all Coles Group stores(such as Coles, Target, etc), you can buy travel and redeem it for stuff with it but it is different from Velocity. Velocity is Virgin Airlines Australia's Frequent Flyer program. Like most FFs, it's accepted at some online stores that have a deal with Velocity, such as Kogan. But Velocity is not accepted at Coles, etc.

However, Velocity/Virgin has done a deal with Coles/Flybuys recently, where you can link your Coles Flybuys and Virgin Velocity accounts (you need to sign up to both). So when you use your Coles Flybuys, you have the option to turn your Coles points into Velocity points and stuff. I have been a member of both for a while but I don't do this.

There is only one 'flybuys' card. If you mean other frequent flyer programs, most airlines have their own, such as Qantas FF, Singapore Krisflyer, etc. If you want store based loyalty programs, there's lots of those too — Priceline Sister Club, Myer One, etc.

        • @ceebee: I use coles a lot is there a good no fee flybuys coles rewards style card.. preferably one without an annual fee of some sort or no credit carding features for safety against overdrawing.

        • @AlienC: Just sign up for flybuys. It's not a credit card unless you get a Coles MasterCard which is a completely separate thing.

        • @Kyanar: give me the link on where to sign up I honestly can't find it or don't know.

    • You can kinda see in the pic, but don't forget Flybys is also valid at Target, Kmart (my fave) Liqorland, Officeworks etc, so for me personally, I don't spend that much at Coles but with the other places it's accepted, I hit the free $10 pretty often. It totally adds up. I also tend to forget about the freebie targeted offers (until Ozb reminds me) and seldom use them, so I think it's worth it even without the freebies, but if you're going to make a point to check the freebies out often, then the card is even better.

Also, I spend about 70/30 at Woolies/Coles and I feel I never get anything good back with Everyday Rewards, honestly.

      • Flybuys is not accepted at Officeworks, where did you get that idea?

  • Nice!

  • Doesn't show up on my flybuys page 😔

  • hi…how do i get this freebie?

    • Need to activate through an email they send you.
