  • Is there an expiry date or will this credit last forever?

  • The credit will be valid for 1 year after sign-up

  • There seem to be lots of negative reviews of GoGet if you google.

Seems you need a recurring subscription and then pay to hire .. no deal

    • indeed, there are different plans when you sign up.

I remember when I signed up there was a free one for one off users but you cop much higher rates per hour, plus you pay a deposit every time before you drive.

Easily rents for two hours each time from IKEA, works out about 20-30% cheaper from delivery

It's $91/day. No deal. You can get most 1 day hire for around $60 on weekdays eg thrifty.

    • If you use the referral link and get an extra $60 it's a better deal - but still no from me.

  • LOL…

I just read that if you get a fine, they will charge you minimum $25 on top of the fine…

Maybe if you had every rented a vehicle JV you would know that this is common practice and $25 is to cover their costs on having to declare you as the driver and send these details back to the issuing authority. Sixt in Europe charge €50 for example.

$25 to fill out the back of the fine notice? Takes about 5 minutes, including looking up the licence details of the actual hiree.

its an inconvenience fee. Its actually reasonable. The way I look at it is you need some clerk to do this and between phone calls and what not, lets just round it up to 1 hour labour.

$250 credit card pre authroziation done as part of signup ( ಠ ʖ̯ ͡ಠ)

For those with an account, they're apparently scrapping a lot of their locations. May be worth reconsidering if you're paying for easy access.

      Hi there,
I'm the Head of Customer Experience at GoGet and just wanted to confirm that the recent story about GoGet decomissioning cars is incorrect. We are not removing cars and are continiung to grow our fleet across all markets. Thanks, Kate

  • Was going to get this but the recurring subscription put me off. No thank you

  • I used GoGet a couple of years ago at IKEA Rhodes and they had codes at IKEA for one year free membership. Not sure if that's still available. Cost me 2 hours (less than $40 IIRC for me to get my sofa home). Would have been just one hour if the queue at the warehouse was shorter.

    • I was at Ikea the other day and they were giving 2 hrs free van hire if you bought a bed ensemble .. Not bad for city peeps with no car or only a small vehicle.

nearest ikea to me 30km's away all that dead mileage returning van..not a bargain

      It's not all about you…

      • yep this, i have access to a work van so eh… nah and my daily SUV pretty much does it all anyway

  • Was good to use for Ikea but the yearly subscription is stupid so won't use again.
