  • Damn, iPhone 8 comes to $950ish, need it under 900 for trs

    • +6

It doesn't have to be under $900.
If you're worried about having to declare it upon re entry, they take into account depreciation.. it's not brand new when you bring it in so it won't be worth $950 any more.

      • I still can’t find anything in writing about depreciation

        • +3

It's well known. Don't worry just believe us. Head to whirlpool if you want more detail. People declaring $2k camera and got waved away anyway. Different story if it is $12k diamond rings…

        • +5

@dragonindespair: Depending who you encounter, you may even have luck with $12k (or more) worth of diamond rings. A few years ago my now wife and I declared a diamond ring, new phones, a laptop, camera, kindles, and I'm sure a couple of other things as well when we left for our honeymoon. On the way back in we re-declared everything, fully expecting to pay a significant amount of refunded GST back (even after accounting for depreciation and duty free allowances). However, instead the customs guy seemed genuinely amazed, thanked us for our honesty and sent us on our way.

We declared everything on the way back in as I assumed that they'd have a record of everything anyway, having given us a refund for it on the way out, but I'm not 100% sure if this is definitely the case.

@slackarse: yeah that's why I said to that guy don't worry but I suspect he is a non believer.

    • The $900 limit on returning is per person I believe. You should be fine if your travelling with others.

      • I always travel alone

    • Doubt they'll check lol

    • Even galaxy S8 is expensive.

Anyone got a good deal on a HR Fitbit? Trying to find a small size at a good price and really hard to find smalls these days!

    • which one? alta hr? charge 2? or blaze?

      • What ever is cheapest with a HR monitor in it, must be fitbit brand.

        • Set up an alert for "fitbit alta HR" and "fitbit charge 2"

  • LG G6 vs LG V20

    Which to choose?

    • None. They are good phones on paper but LGs quality control is sh*t.

      • Bit of a typo in that last word there. Easily done.

        • So I don't have the biggest budget, so is there any phone on the market at the moment that is note-worthy? The more I look, the more confuzzled I become :\ Cheers

      LG v20.

Has quad DAC, is about $100 cheaper, has 64gb storage instead of 32gb.

      • V20 sucks. Worst phone ove ever owned. Soooo buggy. Always crashing and a crap camera

        • +3

Best phone I've ever owned… Never crashes and has an awesome camera… Dxomark seems to agree with me on that.

    • The Australian telstra version doesn't have DAC. Asian models do. V20 does.

      • +1

My version which I bought from Mobileciti during the eBay deal has DAC! AND the B&O headphones

        • +3

Yes I bought one too at their last deal and am very happy with it. Have to mention Mobileciti's rep service was EXCELLENT ! Got the phone in 2 days, in time to claim the TRS. Saving another $40. Very happy !

      • in reality, it doesn't make much difference with or without DAC

        • in reality, it doesn't make much difference with or without DAC

Depends on your music and headphones.

If you listened to heavily compressed pop on sub-$100 earbuds, then yeah, it won't make a difference.

      • The JB version does…was a difference between their and Telstra's version

      I have the G6 and I'm loving it. 64gb internal, 32bit DAC, great camera… It's a Korean model, costed $455.

    • G6. Me and the mrs has one each. V20 is a big fat phone

  • If the Nokia 8 polished copper was out, I'd on this straight away.

    • In same boat thinking of Nokia 8

      • Me too later this year.
$639 at DWI Camera Warehouse. I've bought several phones, camera and lens from them in the past.

    • I bought the Nokia 8 polished copper from the last ebay deal for $571, it's beautiful. It's not a big fingerprint magnet as you would think either, feels solid, looks great, the phone itself lived up to my expectations as well.

  • Has this ended? Saying code not valid when I entered it at the checkout

    • +3

Code works. I was using it on an invalid item

  • I got one. Thanks
