Looks like a good price. The wife wants one of these (upgrading from her current iPhone 5) saying that "8" is her lucky number. Wonder if there might be a better price on an iPhone 8 available between now and Christmas?

I think this is the best price ever for Aussie stock so far… doubt it'll go down much further - but it could!

I feel the 8 and 8 plus will depreciate more than what we've been used to with previous iphone models since most people seem to be opting for the X. I sense a price cut by Christmas time to bump up sales. Ofcourse that means the 7 and 7 plus prices will fall in prices as well.

      • damn son, I paid like $850 for my iPhone 7 in September… regretting that purchase now tbh. Gonna get this 8 deal cause shopmonk dun goofed real bad with their deal in September (i.e. not delivered and today was the last day)

        • damn son i paid $1200 for the 7 plus in March

        • +2

@havok44: dem ripped off feels…. to be fair mine was the standard iPhone 7 128gb, not the PLUS!

Hey at least you derived significant utility from using the iPhone 7 Plus since March, that’s pretty good

      • I sense a price cut by Christmas time to bump up sales

I doubt it — Apple rarely cuts prices, especially since it devalues their "premium" brand image. And besides, resellers are providing plenty of discounts as it is, so Apple doesn't need to do anything.

      • It's apple, not Samsung

Wonder if there might be a better price on an iPhone 8 available between now and Christmas?

Based on price trends of i7, I would not imagine so.
Apparently i8 take up is way down on what Apple expected.
I would not be suprised if i8 gains traction once i10s start getting deleveried and the hype dies down a little.
i10s high price point will push some consumers towards i8

  • code doesn't work for me? tells me "This code can't be applied to your order."

    • Can anyone else verify this? Maybe it's EXPIRED :O

    • Works on the silver model soz

    • Just tried and it works. "PRESSIE"

      • yep i'm trying to buy the silver model… hmmm not sure what i'm doing wrong

        • Clear cache, go incognito? Try a different browser. 🤞hopefully it works

        • @justcallmeboss:

Got it in the end… I ended up having to check out as a guest rather than thru my ebay account. For whatever reason, the code would not work with my account. Tried incognito, clear cache, internet explorer, nothing would work…

        • @jenawabz: Glad you got it! :)

        • @jenawabz: It happenned once to me as I didn't create my account in ebay australia, so I have to create a new account

I grabbed one :-) Code only works for that one model off the PRESSIE link page.

  • *spits on hand *
Let's call it $900, for the Plus model.

    What? No deal?

  • no plus? :(

  • +5

another one for Plus :D please!

  • Does anyone know how MobileCiti can provide such a big discount on their Iphones? Just curious.

    • Its from ebay 15%. Ebay are boosting sales. Part of marketing

      • Oh! thank you! I guess the follow up question is if MobileCiti has in turn raised their initial prices?

  • Any iphone 6S deals?

It says "Refurbished Unlocked iPhone - First Class Quality" ???

    • Where did you read that?
      It says:

      Condition:
Brand New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is available in a retail store, unless the item was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag.

I just called them up and they confirmed that it was brand new stock.

They are $1079 at Goodguys. Just wait for another 20% off.
    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/apple-iphone-8-64gb---silver-…

    • And wait for GG to put the price up ;)

    • That's not how it works lol

  • Dilemma..

SHould I buy direct from apple store $1079 - Using AMEX will get https://www.pointhacks.com.au/american-express-smartphone-sc…

If I go thru ebay $905.93, i wont be cover those screen insurance :(

    • Depends on whether you think you’ll break your screen or not.

    • Link AMEX to your PayPal and use this to purchase the ebay one. That way you will get the cheaper price and the screen insurance.

Why waste $173 and purchase from Apple when you can get the screen insurance with the ebay purchase? Just make sure the ebay purchase receipt has the phone serial number on it AND you keep a copy of the matching Paypal transaction AND you keep a copy of your AMEX statement showing purchase.

      • I know , but amex transactions will show up PAYPAL*** transactions, I am afraid amex will not honour when it comes to a claim.

amex might argue, transaction purchase must be done thru amex card directly, Not via paypal 3rd party ( just worry )

        • Option 1: Buy from Mobileciti, get a cover that has a 'lip' so the screen doesn't touch the ground if the phone falls.

Option 2: Buy from Mobileciti and get AppleCare+ (still a waste of money but better than Amex cover).

          https://www.apple.com/au/support/products/iphone.html

        • Have made AMEX screen cover claim from ebay sale and had it accepted.

    • Dont forget your 1.5% via Cash rewards from Apple.

  • Bugger. Sold out!

  • How come the iPhone 8 is priced so low compared to another recent Android release, the pixel 2?
    $906 vs $1079.
    Crazy!

    • Ebay code. Mobileciti prices it the same

  • +1

I’ve already got mine in hand. Crazy considering I’m 1000’s of kilometres away. What a time to be alive

    • same. just got mine too.

    • I also got it 11am this morning. and I even do not have enough time to buy a case for this fragile phone.
