        This means people (kiddies) have written code (scripts) to repeatedly try to buy the item the second it becomes available at 8pm. Everyday consumers won't be able to compete with the speed that the "script kiddies" purchase all of the stock.

        A "captcha" is one of those jumbles of letters you see on websites to prevent automated scripts from running successfully because they require a human to understand them and enter the characters to progress to the next page.

          @YellowKnight: I'm pretty sure that coding is routinely taught in schools nowadays, which to be fair makes a fair bit of sense considering that a lot of future industries are going to depend on that skill.

    Look, no offence intended to catch.com.au (I'm not trying to be a dropkick) but I know there's pretty well no way I'm going to be able to snag one of these seeing as there's only 50 of them so I wouldn't even bother. Is having such a low amount more of an attempt to bring customers to the site rather than move a large amount of stock for a reduced amount?

      Considering the fact that I was able to successfully pay via paypal within the first 10 seconds of the deal yesterday and my order got refunded by Catch because of "an error in their system", i don't think you have got any chances of getting one. I hope the Mods will ban this kind of deals as it's pure bait advertisement IMHO
      PS I have lodged a complaint with ACCC for the yesterday's deal

        That's super shitty TBH; did they give any more information about that error in their system cause that sounds shady eh. Yeah, I'm pretty confident I wasn't going to have any joy. It really does seem like bait advertising to me too, particularly if you've got people buying the things straight up and they still can't deliver. I mean yeah, I guess first world problems but then why bother to have a deal that's for the first 50; again I'm not trying to be inflammatory, I'm curious because Bunnings will have a special on stuff or SCA and they'll have a ton of stock.

      PRO TIP: use the official and much faster Catch app. Of yesterday's 50 buyers, 49 used our app, not the website. It's the best thing you can do for a better chance at that coveted 50@8PM steal.
