PowerColor ATI 5850 1GB $199 + Freight/Shipping Charges - PCDIY

90

Powercolor ATI 5850 1GB $199 @ PCDIY as per their pricelist.

The website shows the price to be $275 though if you search for it, probably hasn't been updated yet.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there are any handling/freight charges. I was told there might be ($10-15) but don't quote me on it.

Hope this helps save some coin.

It will be interesting to see how far the 5870's drop in price when the 6970 is released in a week or two….

    • interesting here because the 5850 is just below the 6870 but is now being offered at a much lower price.

  • Good to see the prices finally going down. I bought a 5850 for about $370 in march and was looking for another one for crossfire about 2 months ago and the prices had hardly lowered at all.

    • if people have a 5870, add a 5850 for a MIXED crossfire!

      • It slows the 5870 down to the 5850 speed though. :O

  • PCDiy's website is quite often different to their PDF price list. I'm not sure if it makes any difference to online orders though.

    • I think once I went there to buy a CPU cooler which had two diff prices too but I got charged the cheaper one(from site, not pdf).
Maybe they just don't update the pdf as often.

      • In this case however, seems as though the website hasn't been updated.

  • I know some shops (centrecom) have different prices from online and instore prices.

PCDIY i am not sure about, as i too saw the cheaper web based priced vs the pdf and got the cheaper option.

I would say both apply tbh. Just Make sure you clarify it with them. The boxhill staff have always been very helpful to me.

  • UPDATE: Apparently this deal is only a "weekend special" so theoretically it should have worked had you tried yesterday and should work for upcoming weekends. Quite irresponsible of them not to mention it anywhere.

  • I hope it works next weekend as this looks like a good deal depending on postage

    • Looks like it might not work anymore.

PC DIY: The pricing of the 5850 was an error and we have sent an email to the department in charge to correct this.

The price was suppose to be for the weekend only, and was meant to be changed today, but unfortunately it wasn't. We did not intend to deceive anyone and we apologise for this.
