  • whats the difference between this one and the normal one?

    • Pan & Tilt would be the main difference i believe

    • Got one from the previous deal. I must say I was rather disappointed.

This unit it sluggish to connect from different networks, doesn't have a magnetic base and the MiHome app for this particular model is terrible (ie, doesn't give you the option to switch nightvision on/off)

I would go for a XiaoFang if pan and tilt is not absolutely crucial to you.

      • Thanks for the brief review I think I'll get a second Xiaofeng instead of this one

  • Can anyone connect it to external recording device?

    • Not yet I don’t think. Hopefully the hacks arrive. It works quite well.

  • This post helped me to find a good deal on Xiaomi Mi Smart LED Lamp for $40.15. Tried to publish a post for it but did not know how to do so…

Anyway, I put the link here for anyone interested in it.

    • ummmm $88 with shipping….PASS ;)

      • +2

did not check shipping…:) sounds really bad price now, lol

      • I have just had a look at shipping fee. Why it costs so much for this to be delivered? Isn't that normally free or few dollars? what is the trick here?

        • Yeah not sure - normally theres a free shipping option…it sure kills the deal!

        • The base is heavy and the box is big.

  • Hey guys
I'm looking for a camera to watch the dogs over my mobile data. Making sure they're not barking when we leave etc.
    Would this be suitable?
    Is it hard to setup?

    Cheers :)

    • I have a xiaomi xiaofang camera and it took me 1 or 2 minutes to set up. No hassle at all, step by step instruction.

This one has tilt and pan so it should be better than other ones to follow your dog's movement.

      • Cheers
Is getting the feed on your phone difficult? I used yawcam on a laptop and it was difficult

  • Camera sold out - FK

  • How the heck do you get this thing to connect? I go through the following steps:

    Plug in the camera
Load up the Android app (MiHome 4.2.5 - also tried version 4.3.11)
Set the locale to main land China, language to Chinese too.
Click the little + sign top right corner of the first screen
Click on the little DaFang icon that comes up
Then the click on heard the voice and next
Set the Wi-Fi. I've tried an open network and a secured one, both "connect" fine
Scan the QR code that comes up and after the lady speaks to me for about 3 sentences click "Heard Scanned Successfully"
and then it tried to connect so the blue and orange LED blink between them and after about 40% the orange LED turns off but the blue one stays blinking..

Can't get anywhere past that! Any tips?

Might need to try multiple times, I suspect that the chinese server is the problem. The hardware is great save to the local SD card fine, when it come to streaming it have to goes through the Mi network which is just a nightmare.

      • Thanks. I'll keep giving it a try, but so far it still hasn't worked
