      is it just a 240v AC to 12v DC (2amp)? I have like 50 of these transformers in a box.

      Laptop PSUs are 16-19V.

      If you already have a laptop PSU, and wanted to be really tight, you could add a 12V buck converter or two for a couple of dollars.

    IP44 specifically indicates protection from the intrusion of water. Lights which are IP44 rated are designed for use in bathrooms and other environments where water spray is a risk.
