  • Does anyone have this laptop? If so, how well will this do for 4k editing?

    • +4

It won't be great for 4K editing, the CPU is lacking vs intel. However, realistically no laptop in this price range and form factor would be great..

    • +1

The yoga 720 15 inch would be a better laptop for 4k editing.

  • Thanks OP. Considering it, but ships in 3-4 weeks - that's a long time to wait!

Also cashrewards, 5% ($45 is a big rebate!)

  • Pretty good deal, especially with the cashrewards

    zen apu coming soon ?

benchmarks suggest the AMD A10-9600P is slower than the Intel i5-7200u which is cheaper so..

    • even on gaming ?

      • +1

That i don't know. I just checked cpu benchmarks. AMD really struggles to keep up intel in laptop cpus. They have no chance against the 8th gen intel cpus

Though i really expected Lenovo to release the E480 and 580 with 8th gen cpus in October

For gaming this laptop is mated with Radeon R M430 which is quite slow as well. The regular E570 has GTX950M and is much faster than R5 M430.

      • Don't buy any of these budget laptops for gaming, the CPU's are designed for productivity and extended battery life and can only handle the simplest of games.
I have the 7500u version of this laptop, and for uni it's amazing.
For gaming, it can't even run CSGO on low settings; The CPU throttles down to 300Mhz within 60 seconds due to heat. This laptop is best suited for pixel/retro gaming if you insist on playing games on the go.

If you want a laptop that can game, you need a CPU with a much higher thermal design power, like this:
        https://ark.intel.com/products/88967/Intel-Core-i7-6700HQ-Pr…
This will obviously result in a much shorter battery life, so choose accordingly :).

No point when ryzen mobile CPUs are only weeks away

    • This will be interesting

According to AMD Benchmarks the new 2700U will keep up with a 950m + 7500u, but at a 15w TDP (compared to ~50w+). Over doubles the performance of 9600P at the same TDP.

May not be as good as the hype, but either way it'll drive prices of older series down.

  • The E470 is also on sale for $850, not as good as the $719 deal but still, seems to be faster and cheaper than this deal?

  • Mobile AMD CPU and Mobile AMD GPU = avoid like plague. Their recent desktop stuff is good, but the laptop components are hot garbage.

  • wow, 16gb ram, now worth over $200
