yes you need to connect an external Hard Disk to the PVR to record (and play back).

TV specs are not impressive at all. You get what you pay for.
I think it's a great price for a full HD 47". I don't think I could tell the difference between this and one double the price…. and with my extra $800 I can buy something else.
i think you would and you wouldn't even need to line them up side by side. This inst an LED LCD either…
that being said, you may be wrapped with this set and not need anything better,
…the savings on 800 odd bux may very well make it a good set.
impressive at this price
I bought one of these for $999 6 months ago (store opening special at the time). It's a good TV for the price (I was in the market for a 46" Sony). Nothing wrong with this if you want a nice big 1080p 100Hz TV.
This TV is absolute junk. Going back tomorrow.
- Constant 1khz hum though the speakers
- Huge light leakage through the panel
- Very uneven glows across the panel
Heap of crap.
If anyone thinks this is anything except junk, you're blind.
