  • anybody have one of these?….

is it worth another 150 for an ipod touch?

    • +1

ipod touch is good because of all the apps available for it, but if you want a player only for music this would be ok.

      • +1

Yeah the apps on a iPod are a big feature they have over other players, but if you are only going to be really using it for music then you can't really go wrong.

These guys still make mp3 players? I thought they removed themselves from the industry after failing to even beat the Zune.

still have my brick of zen working alright, although the touch is more convient

    • I still use my zen m vision regularly.
What boggles me is that this new one is only 2gbs bigger in size.

      • Same here, my Zen Vision M is still working great. It's a bit of a brick by todays standards but it's so much easier to transfer songs than using an iPod with bloody iTunes.

        • Really? I've always had trouble transferring songs with Creative's software. It always crashed. Maybe it was just a driver problem.

        • jared444 - I can't reply directly to your comment for some reason…

I used to use the Creative software back on XP/Vista which I never had any issues with, but they haven't updated it for use on Windows 7. But having said that Windows 7 allows you to open the player in Windows Explorer and just copy and paste the music straight in so you don't even need the software.

I'm guessing these new players may have their own software, but as I say I've never had any issues with my Zen Vision M and Creatives software.

        • Yeah, the file transfer really is so much easier. Also I can play Avis straight off the player, no need to convert it into some random file format that only Drops the quality.

But like my iPhone I can transfer songs(I don't use iTunes ;) ). However I've noticed my vision M gives a strange sound when I play it with my headphones. Might have something to do with lack of power.

  • Creative players have great sound and usually come with higher quality earbuds. For those sick of or not interested in supporting the Cult of Apple and like to hear higher quality digital music should give the Creative players a go.

  • I've zen mp3 player (another model) - sound is very very good.
