Probably the best 34" 144hz 1ms monitor for this price. Was eyeing off the Acer Predator for a while till i came across this one, all the reviews seem to be good. The only thing it lacks over the Acer is the G-Sync but couldn't justify the extra $400 for that.

144Hz Refresh Rate.

Good monitor, i got mine for $350, although you have to change the screen into "gaming mode" for 144hz, it looks weird in the beginning, but is good, although the lack of 21:9 content may cause trouble for others

    • How did you get it for $350?

      • +1

It was at bing lee, they were moving and they sold me the display model of this monitor for $350

      the lack of 21:9 content

      Er … wut?

      • +1

Majority of games don't support 21:9 so you'll end up having to deal with black bars, plus most videos will jsut downscale the ratio

    • Many modern games support this format and most 'blockbuster' films also come in the aspect ratio plus a few tv shows like 'Stranger Things' also use a 2:1 aspect ratio which does look better on a 21:9 screen than on a standard 16:9.

      • +1

Second that, would say most modern games would be running 21:9 ratio. Pubg, destiny to name 2.

        • I have come across 2 games that I can think of that haven't supported 21:9 or had a simple fix to get 21:9 … One is Nex Machina which I believe actively stops 21:9 due to high scores ie. they don't want some players seeing more. Can't recall the other one …

  • Hasn't it been pricejacked exactly 20% from their previous sales price?

    • Still the cheapest I have come across. Catch has it for $810.

      • +1

Point is I wouldn't be rushing to use a 20% off code to get something that will be the same price when the code ends - i wouldn't buy it on principle alone

        • Yeah seems like a standard price that pops up every now then, just so happened I was in the market at the time of the code.

    • These eBay sales attract all sorts of deals being submitted that aren't that great, but hey, 20% off is 20% off right?

      • So why not have a 50% off sale then - hey just double the price pre sale and we'll all be getting bargains! Not!

  • "Full HD" resolution must look pretty bad at that size.

    • Does a 55inch full HD TV look bad at that size?. There are 2k and 4k for premium price but you lose the 144hz. Can't have the best of both worlds, really depends on what you want out of the monitor.

      • I have had a curved 34" LG IPS 75Hz monitor with higher resolution than this (can't remember the number exactly) for the past year. It is amazing. It's easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. I don't think it would be nearly as good in a lower resolution and not curved (seriously, it's weird now to look at normal monitors and have the edges much further from my eyes than the middle).

Obviously a hardcore gamer might want 144Hz but it's a lot of money to spend on something where all UIs will look jagged.

        • To me the 144hz was above the resolution on my list as mainly use the computer for gaming. To my knowledge only full hd offers the 144hz. The 2k only offered 75hz or 100hz with the predator I think but at the premium price. Could of went the 27inch but I like the extra wides and they look fkn sick. Personal preference.

        • can't remember the number exactly

That would be 3440x2880 … many new games cannot reach 144FPS with maximum settings at this resolution using a GTX 1080 Ti though.

        • @Diji1: Yeah that one.

There's no requirement to use max settings or to keep it pegged at 144Hz when you have Freesync.

    • Its 2560x1080, I just upgraded from LG 34UM57 (60hz).
Resolution doesnt look bad at all, it has about 30% more pixels than a traditional 1920x1080.

  • Acer x34 predator is 1440p. Many people care about this.

  • People and resolution is a funny thing to me. I have three monitors on my pc, all 1080p including a 21:9 in the middle and two 16:9 on each side and the resolution is absolutely fine to me. clear and sharp with excellent colours. I also have a 1080 graphics card and it can struggle to drive even that centre monitor at a solid 60fps in modern games on ultra settings. I don't think my i7 4.2 Ghz with 32 GB ram is the bottleneck there either so I wonder what sort of performance most people will see on a 4k monitor.

Maybe my standards are on the low side - I remember being amazed at 320 x 240 with two colours and also being thrilled at the 'wonderful' graphics on the Atari 2600 in the 1970's (160 x 192 pixels) - but I think that 1080p at a normal sitting distance will be good enough for most people.

I mean if you didn't have 2 additional monitors hogging your gpu you might get better performance on your 21:9

      • Something has gotta be wrong with his setup. I have 3x 2560x1440 monitors, and I can run new games on a GTX 1080 at 120fps+ on high easily (except PUBG lol). I also only got my side monitors recently and didn't notice any performance impact connecting them.

In nvidia control panel you can choose a display performance mode and I've set it to primary display performance mode instead of multi, but I didn't really notice it having any impact on any of my displays.

  • I'd be careful buying from WareHouse1 - I've had horrible experiences with them, on eBay and direct.
