    T&Cs: https://www.ebay.com.au/flybuys/l1/terms-conditions

    Something something Woolworths.

It's bizarre that not everyone gets the same points per dollar spend. All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.

The interesting thing in there is that there will possibly be BONUS POINTS OFFERS.

  • Got error. Is it targeted? I haven't received email.

    • no email here either.

    • I mentioned it was targeted when I posted this, however that part got deleted by a mod.

      • Because possibly not. I haven't received an email, but after 10 minutes of trying, it finally succeeded.

      • Got the email at 11:40am so it is not targeted.

Keep trying. I stripped the 'L1' string from the end of ebay.com.au/flybuys/ and it worked once it loaded.

    • Huh, this worked for me, thanks!

    • Took a couple of trys but that worked for me thanks

    • thx

Hi thanks for the post OP.

I received the error multiple times but just kept hitting try again for about three to four minutes and then it worked.

It also mentions I get 1 point for each $1 spent but I haven’t received the email yet.

  • +1

Eventually got it to work. Clicked it several times. Logged in and out and eventually it worked. Thanks OP.

  • Success
Your account is linked and you’re ready to start collecting points.

I believe it has to do with Flybuys and too many requests.

  • +1

Yep, started working for me now after about 30 minutes of trying. Didn't have to log out and back in as above.

  • linked but got 1 point per $2 dollars spent

    • did u purchase after linking already?

      • Not yet, only what the dashboard says.

Have a secondary flybuy number linked to another eBay account and that's 1 point per $1

even the icon used are different, although both from the same op link

  • Took me around 30min of trying but it eventually linked successfully. Just keep trying guys if it still has not worked for you.

  • +1

Crap. Linked secondary ebay account to my main flybuys.

    • link you main ebay with your main flybuys (under different name)

      • You can't though. Each Flybuy account can only be linked to one eBay account.

    • Yeah been trying to link from both my account and the wife's; somehow hers went through and now I got an error saying the Flybuy is already linked.

  • I didn't get an email but the link worked for me.

I feel ashamed to say this but I tried IE instead of Chrome and it worked lol

    • +3

I kinda feel for IE. Everytime it asks to be my default browser it is like the pimply kid asking out the girl that is way too good for him.

Still wouldn't use it though and you should be ashamed.

  • Failed first time using Chrome, then opened incognito window, re-entered details and just kept clicking the button, went through OK on third try.

  • Darn… Just bought a $1200 mobile from Goodguys ebay the other day!

  • Ineligible Items.

There are some instances when you’re unable to collect flybuys points on eBay:

When selling goods or services on eBay (unless otherwise stated).
Where the total amount paid per transaction is $0.98 or less.

Items purchased in the following categories:
    Services (316)
    Cars, Bikes, Boats (9,800)
    Tickets, Travel (11,730)
    Formula (20,403)
    Bullion (178,078)
    Gift Cards (172,009)

All items sold by the following sellers are not eligible for flybuys points on ebay.com.au:
    Woolworths Supermarket
    Dan Murphy’s
    Big W
    Cellarmasters
    WineMarket

    • They've excluded FORMULA. There will be no double dipping on FlyBuys points! Hahaha

It might be interesting to see if this exclusion list grows.

    • Hmmm.. I wonder what those stores have in common..

  • what are flybuys worth? found out i got 8k of points…

    • +5

You basically have $40 worth. In the majority of cases it's 2000 points for a $10 voucher.

    • If you like travel, you can also do 2000 points -> 870 Velocity, but better to sit on them and wait for the bonus points on transfers they run every now and then (until end of Nov, there's a 15% bonus, meaning it's near enough to 2000 flybuys -> 1000 velocity).

  • I can't login to Flybuys, keep saying my password is wrong, I even reset them but still won't let me in..

    • I think this happened to me with my flybys account. I normally make really long passwords (30 Characters) but my flybys password is only 16 so I'm thinking flybys didn't like my 30 character password and I had to reduce it. If your password is long try reducing it to under 16 characters?

  • Finally worked for me. Only the 1 point for $2 spend though :(

  • Worked for me but I did not get the email on the account I linked. I am using Firefox 55.0.3 with privacy badget and ublock origin. I'm at work so I don't think I've tweaked them before for ebay or flybuys…but I might have. If in doubt, turn them off temporarily and try again

  • This explains why they nuked Flybuys eShops. I used to get quite a few points from eBay that way.

    • Yeah those brochures were a waste of trees. I just used them to wrap apple peel when snacking.

  • Linked. :-) .. !!

Bought a USB cable yesterday. Missed out on 1 point :( :(

    • +1

      farrrrr man… i would jump off a bridge :(

      • +1

        I know bro :(

    • Dude, you just missed out on half of one cent!

      • Jesus man rubbing salt into the wound!

  • pity you can't link the same flybuys account to more than 1 ebay account.

  • I found this on the redeem Flybuys points for ebay voucher page.

Note: If the value of goods purchased is less than the total voucher value, the balance of the voucher will be forfeited and cannot be used towards future purchases.

That doesn't sound good to me. What u guys think?

    • +1

So buy $10 or more. Or redeem for Flybuy dollars, as I usually do.

  • Are you able to link more than one ebay account i tried and worked fine with ie account not paying attention to trying my other ebay account and trying to link that kept getting errors but noticed it said already linked?
But its a different ebay account?
So how do i know which account has been linked and if both are as i only see one ebay on my flybuy account.

    • +1

FAQ says only one can be linked. If you go to your eBay dashboard you can see the Flybuys card number, or last 4 digits I think.

      • +1

Ok thanks would have been handy to have linked the 2 accounts i will have to remember that when make a purchase one gives points other don't

  • Thanks OP. I'm linked :)

  • +1

Wow, no turning back and look like they pass on all your purchasing info to each other and do targeted ads I suppose… ;)

Can I unlink my flybuys card from my eBay account?

No, you won’t be able to unlink your flybuys card from your eBay account once they’re linked.

What information of mine will eBay and flybuys collect and use?

When you link your eBay and flybuys accounts, you are consenting to providing your information to both eBay and flybuys. Both eBay and flybuys will have certain rights with respect to your personal information and you should check eBay’s User Privacy Notice and the flybuys privacy policy to ensure you are familiar with the ways in which each of the organisations may hold and use your personal information.

So maybe they'll recommend me a Xiaomi Robot Vacuum if I have bought popcorn?

I struggle to find things I want to buy at Coles. Although I did manage to stack a 1000 point offer and a 500 point paper voucher on Monday to buy a couple of bricks of Coke. And most of my eBay purchases are cheap adaptors, cables, that sort of thing. So they can scan my shopping history all they want. I'll just unsubscribe from or filter out the marketing emails. But if I buy something in an eBay sale I might as well get a couple of dollars off.

    • +2

Oh Jesus why no option to opt out? It should be standard. I find this weird.

  • Worked for me just now too! Thanks!

  • I got 1 point per $2. Just signed up.

  • Thank you

  • +1

Apparently, it can only link (1) eBay account per Flybuys account. The error says "You can't link this account again as it is already linked."

On the plus side, if you use Coles Rewards Mastercard (via Paypal) then for every dollar you now get 3 Flybuys points.

  • Didn't receive email. Used link above. All good.

  • +2

    Thank you Amazon!!!

  • I got 1 flybuys per $2. Got the email at 10am.

    • same but got email from flybuys at 12.42pm

  • For those who keep getting the error, use this link and it will work straight away: https://www.ebay.com.au/flybuys/

  • How does it work with coles credit card holders? Do you get the normal points plus extra on ebay?

    • +1

You will earn the standard point rate you get with the eBay link. So 1 point per $1 or $2 spend. The flybuys points you earn on the credit card are different.

So if you're earning 2 points per $1 on the credit card linked to your PayPal you will also earn the additional points from the eBay deal.

On a side note a misconception a lot of people have with the Coles credit card is that you no longer need to scan your flybuys card which is incorrect. Your 2 points per $ are in addition to the point per $ for scanning your flybuys card.
