    Good points

    • Three-year warranty. ????
    • Remote control can be used to operate some other video devices.

    Bad points

    • Poor on-screen user interface - about 40% of the picture is obscured when adjusting picture settings.
    • Poor on-board controls - touch sensitive only.
    • You can't rescan the digital channels without also doing a full scan of the analog ones - this will be frustrating for users only interested in DTV, or when analog broadcasting is shut down.
    • Very sensitive to changes in viewing angle.
    • Picture looks washed out, even if you increase the colour saturation - this is more noticeable when viewing DVD rather than BD.
    • Poor sound quality from the inbuilt speakers - voices sound tinny, and the overall sound is thin and lacks power.

seanm, the choice review you have found has the TV listed at $1499. At that price, one would be highly concerned with the points raised. At $685 though, i would have thought that the TV still represents a great value buy.

  • Guys bad news for you, I'm afraid DSE has let the cat out of the bag the other day. Now we consumers know what pricing we can expect to see very soon….

They are honouring these prices btw, event though they have changed their prices back to near rrp online.
EDIT: and those above prices included shipping!

    • Your post refers to Sony TVs, ours is for a different brand. None of these are the product we are offering, none of them are 42" Full HD and none of them are as cheap (except the 32" which is obviously way smaller)…

      • It says Analog Tuner. No Digital/ HD tuner. I think Rep should highlight that.
A Big no to this TV then. What is the fun of getting it without HD tuner.
        Spend 100 extra bucks for Set top Box + 25 delivery + 685 = 810.
( Dont ask us to get a cheap Set top box for 35 ;) )
So its better to get a Sony brand brand TV. ( that too with 100 Hz)
        KDL40EX500 - 40” FullHD 100Hz LCD - $799

Decide yourself. Not a deal. But still dont want to negg it.
