      You're welcome ; )

  • lol, sounds a lot like banwave to me

    • Haha you could be right actually…just in time for those chrissy sales!

You pay for a membership on XBox, so technically this is not free.. if it was on PS3 it would be free.

    • +2

      ???

You usually have to pay for membership for Xbox Live Gold, but for 5 days you get all the features and benefits at no charge. How is that not free?

And whats this got to do with PS3?

    • No… if you pay for membership on Xbox, technically it is free because you don't pay…

      • Not sure if i'm right but I think he meant that if you've already got a annual subscription then its of no use. Many who are interested in online play probably wouldve already got gold so unless your annual sub. Just expired or MS gave you an extra five days to the subscription, you're not saving anything. Although its good as a trial for new xbox owners

  • This may also be good for those who have a silver account and want to try out Foxtel on 360, as that requires a gold account ; )

  • u get foxtel on xbox????

    • yea, but it uses your bandwidth and you have to pay subscription @_@

there are also people like me that are going to play other games on xbox live which they usually cant because they dont want to pay membership fees for something they wont get full value out of!!

    • it is only $50 for 12 months of live. You can't spare under $5 a month?

      • This comment is senseless. For some people (eg students, teenagers) the problem isn't so much the minimum monthly cost but the lump sum required to pay it - heaps of people simply can't secure $50 outright, or can't get permission from parents, or don't have access to a credit card to buy from online retailers.

Then there's the fact that for some people an ongoing subscription simply isn't worthwhile - I know plenty of people who switch it on for a couple months (say over the summer) then off again when they won't have the time (or get the plug pulled by parents).

        • Gold also comes in 1, 3 and 6 months as well as 2 days (but I think the 2 days and 1 month are trials, but still gold access none the less, they can be found on ebay, I think stores only sell one year and 6 months)

        • I wasn't not referring to the the ability of being able to afford it. I was referring to the amount of value you get out of something that is only worth $5 a month. I apologise, I should have made that clear.

By the way, I am a student, I do not have a job, I play live a couple of times a month if that. But when I do play, I do not believe that I have wasted my money. I guess it up to the persons perception of value.

Instead of labeling someone's post as "senseless" how about next time you start with "I disagree with that…and here are the reasons why". It sounds a lot nicer.

        • Trance N Dance: The shorter durations come at a higher cost per time (twice as expensive on a month to month basis).

Moe_for_PM: Thanks for the level headed reply. I wrote my response in the same attitude I perceived yours. This second reply is more courteously addressed in measure with what I perceive to be a much more balanced post on your behalf. I generally phrase in proportion to the comment I am addressing, rather than always attempting to spare the feelings of my recipient.

  • I can, I choose not to since my xbox is my 2nd choice console

Who are the losers neg-voting your comments? What exactly is their problem with you preferring some other console, or that you appreciate this deal because you get to use XBox Live Gold for a change?

I prefer the 360 to my PS3 and Wii (for now), but I'm not about to go downrating every PS3 and Wii fan…

Might be a good deal. Tried to turn on my 360 last night (for the first time in weeks/months, I much prefer my PS3) and the piece of junk gave me the RROD. Not for the first time, had it "repaired" a couple of years ago. Crappy hardware, bad design, overheating GPU, "fixed" and broken again. Wonder if I'll ever buy another piece of MS "hardware", not bloody likely.

  • Its on now, yay! COD is fantastic
