Stuff this! Catch of the day makes everyone a fool of the day!

  • Managed to get one in under 10 seconds in. Refreshed on phone right after payment and sold out! Got lucky!!

  • +1

    Lol….gone in under 30 seconds
I guess I better wait for Xmas sales…..

  • +1

My card got charged $25.95, but order did't show up.

    • +1

Mine too, such a rip off, why charge when there is no stock

      • Totally rip off..

  • Sold out so fast. I'm pleased I tried though as I didn't realise my club catch trial expires tomorrow. I've kind of saved $69. I usually set a calendar reminder. Note to self: make sure.

  • +3

absolute scam, had one in cart (was logged in) at one second past - then says no available stock!

    • +3

      Same same

        Same same same

Interesting. I didn't have it in the cart, instead I refreshed on the main page and went from there when it hit 8pm. My order was successful.

  • well this is shit, its 7pm here in QLD and im all ready for 8pm and its in southern timezone and now all sold out.

  • +1

50@8PM is ridiculous. It's absurd. It's obnoxious. And yet we're still here doing it.

    Even they know it's bad.

The part number 4N6-00003 is corresponding to this

    https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-au/products/gaming/…

Hopefully it is the newer version

    • Catch had a RRP of $109.95 but MSRP is $89.95

  • I stand by my previous comment.

  • +9

Surely they understand these sort of "ridiculous absurd obnoxious" deals where most of us, accordng to them, will get "nil, zero, zilch, nada" will do more harm to their brand than good by frustrating a large contingent of their buyers?

I get these days are all about clicks and contact details, but I will go out of my way NOT to buy from these goons now.

  • +2

Payment went through.. Card and paypal got charged $25.95, but nothing on order history.

    From ACCC website:

    Sales & delivery

The Australian Consumer Law offers protections against unfair sales methods and tactics. It’s important to know your rights.

    Non-delivery of products & services
It is ILLEGAL for a business to accept payment for products or services they do not intend to supply.

Wow.. catch doing illegal thing now.

    • +2

System error seems to be a perfect excuse for them to get out of this every time. Good luck having ACCC to help you get the controller.

      • +1

I won't having ACCC to help get the controller, best outcome probably just refund.. LOL

But just to get information for you all guys.

  • Now the page linked has this message. Seems Catch agrees…

Welcome back to another edition of the most annoying phenomenon in online shopping! 50@8PM demands that you come here exactly at 8PM, hurry to complete the purchase transaction (PRO TIP: use our app), and still probably lose out on the daily deal.

Only a handful of you will score this Xbox controller, which you can use wired with a PC, or wired or wireless with Xbox One, at this ludicrous price. The rest of you will walk away with precisely nil, zero, zilch, nada.

50@8PM is ridiculous. It's absurd. It's obnoxious. And yet we're still here doing it.

You know what's even weirder? You're still here, too.

    • +1

I wouldn't have any issues if they only charged the very first 50 buyers and not everyone!

  • +4

You have got more chances buying a lottery ticket. Mods please move these deals under "competitions"! This is a joke! It's like free advertising on OZB, I'm surprised the mods still allow this sh#t!
My negative vote is based on the fact that I successfully got and paid for an item and my money got refunded without explanation. It's happening again and again!

  • +5

These things are really just ads for the sites rather than genuine deals at this quantity.

  • +3

People say you won't get one, but 5 people say they got one. So well done for OP sharing and those guys for scoring that deal.

I don't get why CoD didn't just add $2, it would jave still sold out and they'd get an extra $100.

    • > 10 is insufficient quantity :)

      • +1

Yes, but this isn't open just to OzBargain, it isn't an exclusive. So 5 to OzBargain community that spoke up, maybe more, and 45 to others. 50 units is good enough.

        • Proof or it didn't happen :D

        • +1

          @GregFiona: Erm… oh dear, it didn't happen.

  • Yeh I got it in the cart selected payment method and "sold out" wouldn't have been more than 10-15 seconds. Typical catch rubbish.

  • +1

    click bate of the day!!

  • +2

catch of the day deals should be banned on this site .. they are lotteries

may as well allow lottery tickets here also!! ozbargain isnt lotterybargain

  • +2

They need to provide a picture they even have 50 in stock. Probably only had 5 lol

    • +1

They lose money selling at the crazy lottery prices .. so they want to minimise the loss.. its 100% advertising for their website ..nothing more … so they lose money to advertise no loss really.

  • Do they have ads on their website? The amount of people refreshing at exactly 8pm would be huge, the amount of non-unique impressions would be insane.
