  • soooo good dash cam?

    • +1

Quite popular on OzBargain so must be good.

      • I've only had mine for about a week, so can't comment on the reliability side of things, but the image quality is good and the GPS information on the video is quite nice to have.

    • I love it.

Mine's just a few months old. Clear 1080p @ 60fps. I think it has Sony camera.

      • how's the video compression? My dashcam's video file's insanely large, 128Gb sd card will only last a day and half.

        • +2

Recording 1080p video @ 60fps doesn't make small video files.

        • 1080p @ 60fps @ 20000kbps inc audio will fill a 64gb microsd in ~6hr25min. A 128gb microsd should record about 13 hr using the same settings.

    • Had mine for about a week too. Fantastic for the money. Remember to add in price of a decent sized MicroSD card (google it for recommended brands - dash cams can be demanding).

  • Good dash cam. I’d question the ‘fast’ shipping though.

Everything I’ve ordered through this mob has taken 5-6 weeks

  • I've yet to install the non gps one I bought few weeks ago from a deal on here but I've seen them working on a mates car and the video looks good.

  • Do people usually add shipping insurance with the free shipping option?

  • +4

How can I select fast shipping for free? These are the only options I can see

    Express Expedited 4 - 5 business days. USD $ 14.11 (50% off)
    Postal Expedited 5 - 8 business days. USD $ 8.44 (40% off)
    Postal Service - Tracking 6 - 33 business days. USD $ 0.00 (100% off)

I’d like to know too, not really keen on waiting a month for this

    • -2

Don't have fast shipping option for free, sorry.

  • Does it have the hard wire kit? Doesn't seem to be stated in the page/link?

    • No it doesn't. It comes with plug type power adapter that goes in the cigarette lighter.

      • Can I just plug it into a USB charger or do I need to use the one this is supplied with?

        • Yes it can be connected to a USB charger.

        • The one supplied says it has a current output of 3A. But for me the camera worked fine with just a basic two USB port cigarette lighter charger that I already had, and I believe it's output is only maximum of 2A. I am planning to hard wire my secondcamera straight to the fuse box in my second car. Should be just a matter of chopping off the USB connector and attaching some sort of connectors.

        • @jakentta:

Have a look at comments here about hard wiring: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/5090642/redir

        • @jakentta:

it's output is only maximum of 2A

an a118c draws about three to four unit load. one unit load is 100ma. so a a119s + gps should draw no more than 1000ma. 600ma to 700ma for the combo is a reasonable estimate.

Amazing price for what is a very capable camera. Have 2 now, one for the personal car and one in my work car, and can't recommend them enough.

  • Anyone knows if this can survive the heat of a long drive? Thanks

    • +1

Yes it can, as it is capacitor powered.

  • I drive a 2004 Toyota Echo hatch back. Does its cigarette lighter port has enough power to run both GPS and A119 simultaneously? Any special gadgets required?

    • It should, I don't have a Yaris but I run two dashcams off the one cigarette lighter socket with a double adapter.

  • Can't be too sure about the reliability though. My A119S V2 from the last Zapals offering conked out after about a month. Though there's a 6 month warranty, still needs to be sent back to China at your own cost. Yet to hear back from Zapals support after 2 days of lodging a complaint too

  • Hi Guys, Am I doing something wrong, I getting the price US$119.99 Is there any code that goes along with this purchase to bring it down to US$69.99

  • +1

Shows up as US $119.99. Just like on the 12th, when it got removed from OZbargain. Seems that lightinthebox can't beat "all popular deals".
