Must resist… Must resist…. Damn it this is getting hard!

    • +8

TVs? Really? Ah well whatever floats your boats..
If it's still hard in 4 hours go see a doctor.

      • +1

If it's still hard in 4 hours go see a doctor.

No an Ozbargainer, he'll convince you to buy it and you'll feel much better treating the source of the problem.
Trust me I'm an Ozbargainer :)

        • +1

A true ozbargainer buys 10 and let's 9 sit in the box unused 😁

      • If buying this TV to watch those contents in 4K will probably make it harder.

    • +2

Ugh. Fighting the same urge. Wife will kill me, then love me when it arrives and she starts watching things on it. Ugh.

      • +1

I'm currently in negotiation with my accountant on this… ;)

If you have 4 AMEX cards, add a $5 item and split the bill to get it for $1200 + $110 gc

  • Jb hifi has 20% off. Pricematch!

    • But it’s the same price

      • HN is $4 cheaper plus the $110 gift card

  • really tempted on this one, worried i'll regret it when Amazon go live in the next week or two and it will be cheaper

    • +1

Was thinking the same, but since this is about $700 cheaper than it was a few days ago (incl. gift card), had to pull the trigger on this deal.

Amazon will no doubt have deals but assume it will be close to this if anything and no idea what models.

    • +2

This price is pretty consistent to the previous series 7000 that reached $1500 on sale. Doubt it'll get much lower than this, not worth the wait. Just buy it with 28degree and use buyers protection if it drops

  • +3

Looking to buy it, but thinking will it be cheaper during boxing day sales?

  • I've already used the AMEX cash back with Harvey Norman last week

Does anyone know if I can do it twice, on the same card?

Also, any reports on if this actual TV is decent?

    • Twice? Don't think so.

      • Damn, kinda wish I didn't already use it now

        • Why? - it's still $100 before or after…?

        • @Thiefsie:

          Huh?

        • You've bought something and got $100 back (or will soon enough).

If you buy something else you won't get any more back. So, I'm saying if you have two transactions that qualify for the cashback, you still only get $100 back. Same same - so why are you wishing you didn't use it before? You still save $100.

  • Damn I missed Amex offer. I couldn't get the offer :(

    • If interested PM me.

  • How are these teles for the casual film watcher/fairly full time video game player? I really know nothing about TVs tech and spec wise, I'm still using a 40" LCD and have been looking to upgrade for a long time, but prices of big TVs like LG OLEDs turn me off, and I've owned a Dick Smith homebrand TV in the past years ago which was hot garbage, so these, for lack of a better term, lesser known name TVs always sort of put me off. Can anyone speak to the quality? Would you need to buy a soundbar or something similar to get decent sound from them?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the naivety!

  • Does anyone know the latency / lag of this TV? Pity rtings.com doesn't review them (but I probably know why).

    • +1

Im a casual gamer and have no issue with it but i dont play FPS much anymore because all the new ones dont look good

    • +2

A collegue of mine has tested a number of TV's using this device http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_in…

The Hisense N7 came out at 33ms (for comparison Sony X9000E was 32ms, LG SJ850 17ms & LG UJ654T 19ms). This is in game mode

      • Is higher better?

        • +2

Nope. Lower is better (less delay between input and response).

Not an expert on this but 35ms or less is probably okay for all but the most fussy gamers.

        • +1

Lower is better. The number is milliseconds between input signal and image being shown on screen.

      • Thanks a lot for your replies, especially with the numbers.

As you mention that is not the lowest around but would be reasonable for most.

Our teenage sons are avid gamers (for better or worse) and seem to be able to tell the difference between milliseconds one one screen and another.

Although sometimes I wonder if they are confusing Internet latency with screen latency.

  • if i signed up for amex today, would i be able to get this cashback offer?

    • Not until your card is approved, and only if the Harvey Norman Amex offer is still available at that time. So not likely.

    • Offer is no longer available. it was first 40,000 cards

People say that consumers are not stupid enough to be fooled by all the marketing implying LCD TVs are actually LED.
But yet again, they are proved wrong.

You and I know this is an LCD, and it may sound pedantic, but the poster was fooled enough, if only sub-consciously, to put just "LED" in the subject line. And many are fooled by QLED etc.

Not as bad I suppose when they added a couple of inches to all the TV sizes in advertising. e.g. 24" screens were advertised as 26".

  • Damn, this is a good price, can't buy anymore TV as already have 3 in the house, one need to breakdown before I get a new one.

    • Good luck on waiting lol

Making me regret my TCL purchase now! Came in at 1346 delivered after $150 EFTPOS GC. But this has much better reviews :(

    • Which TCL did you buy ??

      • The 65C2US. It's still out for delivery because I keep missing them though -.-

  • Been waiting for this! Thanks OP.

  • Will this same model be cheaper on boxing day? I am itching on getting this and only have a full day to decide before the deal ends.

    • +1

Kinda smashes the previous cheapest. If you have the amex deal to go with it I'd jump now.

      • Dont have AmEx but still an irresistible deal. Ohhh I got a couple more hours left to decide.

        • +1

          TGG is cheaper now.

        • @wtfnodeal: checked TGG's site and shows the same price with $100 in-store credit. I think HN beats it with $10 more in-store credits.

        • +1

@aphexx0407: look again 65N7 is $1495 after TV100 promo code for example

        • @wtfnodeal: tried the code you gave and it went through, slashed $100 off sale price. Though I can't seem to find anywhere on the page about that code.

        • @aphexx0407: Have you got a link for TGG deal? I can only see the 65N5 for $1495. Thanks!

        • @rza: expired last night

        • @rza: yeah, deal already expired. It says deal was valid until the 16th but price and code still worked until the 17th early morning.

  • Does this end today, I want to get it on the weekend. no time today.

    • Ends today, although you can always click and collect and pick up on weekend?

  • Ugh. With three AMEXes to spread this across it is VERY tempting to replace the old Panny Plasma…

Anyone know if there's a native Plex app ?

    • Previous version had it

  • Trigger pulled! Thanks for the post.
Make sure you get the gift card, wasn’t on the store price card. Show them the website if you need to.

I turned up to Preston Harvey Norman at 8pm last night. People were everywhere because they had some kind of VIP night on. I told the guy the TV I wanted and he said I'll do you a deal because it's VIP night. He gave it to me for $1450 which is $1350 with AMEX cash back. Stung me $180 for 4 year extended warranty. He said that takes the warranty out to 5 or 7 year's total. I bought it in the rush of things and because he caught me by surprise on the price of the TV.

    • $1450 that's a very good price. Did you also get the $110 HN gift card?

  • Anyone had any issues with splitting payment at Harvey Norman?

  • Hisense Warranty is very poor if you ask me. Have the TV for less than a week and only today notice screen has flickering issue. Called the warranty claim hotline was told only replace if reported within 2 days now 6 days past have to go through repair warranty.
