    AUD299 at Bose and HN!

    • So everyone saying when Amazon opens in Australia it will kill off other stores. This price (plus get once it's Australia) is around what everyone including the maker sells for.

I really think there are going to be disappointed people thinking it was going to be a whole lot better.

      • You are assuming price is the only thing that matters. Amazon offers a whole lot more, especially if a prime member.

      • Amazon is not here to make it lot better for anyone than them selves! Cheaper maybe, by how much and how long don't know. May be enough to dent HN and then game on.

        • It will be interesting to see how this will play out in relation to the GST.

If they bring Prime here then you'd arguably be able to remove the $15 or $16 or so that the price above includes for shipping though. Assuming a straight USD to AUD conversion + GST, the products then still 10% cheaper than HN.

In any event I'd rather deal with Amazon than many local retailers from a support perspective. The Amazon value isn't just price.

        • I'm the opposite, I would rather support the stores in my area that employs locals.

        • @PVA: Well Amazon will employ locals too.

I'm not saying I will cease shopping at other retailers, however they don't get a free pass either just for being Australian. I'm not sure Harvey Norman as an example offers compelling customer service to make paying more overly worth it. Just went through a warranty issue with them and the turn around ended up being about 5 weeks where many of the larger companies would have just issued us a replacement and dealt with the repairs themselves rather than leave us waiting. Happy to pay a bit more but the customer service has to be there too and for a lot of local businesses it really isn't.

  • without AAA battery :)

Says, this item doesn't ship to Australia. How do you get it shipped, is there a trick?

    • +1

Amazon has changed it to not being able to be shipped to Australia for some reason. You would unfortunately need to use a US freight forwarder such as Shipito to get this now. So technically this deal is over now unless a US freight forwarder is used.

      • Thanks.

  • link updated… for some reason its been diverted to the different seller…

    • Nah, it's the same one.
You changed it to the Apple version, that ships, the model that works with everything else doesn't ship. .

    • Oh yeah that's the release for Apple. The one for Android has for some unknown reason been changed to does not ship to Australia.

  • Not sure what happened but it was alright this morning when I post it.
Must be some cheeky contacts by Au retailers…
    Thanks for notice.
    It is in title now.

    • Yeah the one for Android is sold by seller amazon.com so i wonder if some Australian distributor had any thing to do with it.
