Might be good in combination with Amex cashback, but for a normal price it's cheaper here with PING20.

  • It was $1095 in this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/342547

And was $1195 in JB's 1-day Hisense sale last week.

    • In addition to those deals, the N6 was $1197 at videopro last Friday. If you have a store nearby, it would be worth asking them if they could do a similar price again before buying the N5.

    Is there a quick comparison available between N5 / N6 / N7?

I think the N5 and N6 has 60Hz refresh versus the N7 with 100Hz refresh

Plus cosmetically, the N7 looks way better!

Before anyone jumps in with any negativity towards the brand. I picked up a Hisense recently and in comparison to Samsung and Sony TV's I've owned and my friends own, I find the picture quality to be much better. It cost less and has a 3 year warranty as opposed to the standard 12 month warranty the big names offer. Very happy with my purchase and would buy another without hesitation.

Except if your TV breaks down after 12 months , under Australian consumer law you still have rights even when you were sold a an item with a 12 month warranty. Basically if you're sold an extended warranty in Australia for big ticket electronic items you're being ripped off.

      • Correct, however 3 years is the standard warranty not extended, and it's a hell of a lot less painful getting a replacement under warranty compared to a replacement under consumer law.

My laptop screen suffered a hairline crack that originated from the microphone. To get it replaced under ACL I had to work my way to the state manager because both the store rep and the store manager had no idea what the ACL was.

Didn't say it was a extended warranty on your cheaper one. 1 year warranty v 3 year warranty are the same in theory, but you're right you may well have to fight to get the replacement after 12 months. I saw a study recently and 85% of shop staff interviewed about consumer law knew zero about it and were giving out false info to customers.

Basically if anyone tried to sell you extended warranty on a 12 month purchase, tell them to swivel.

    • Had you been able to compare it to a Panasonic, I am sure the Panny would have noticeably better picture quality.

  • Better or worse. Depends on the model you are comparing. N7 is a good TV, not sure N5.

I have the N7 and would suggest spending a few more hundred to get one over the N5. 3/4 of a year owning one and could not be more happy with the quality for money:).
