NAB Qantas Signature Credit Card - 100k Bonus Qantas Points (Requires $3k Spend in 60 Days) annual fee $395

240

better than the previous deal where you have to spend $4k for extra 90k bonus qantas points.

i've got the card from the last deal and had asked Nab to waive the annual fee for me as I have a home loan with them.

  • I couldn't see any income requirement listed on the page for this card. I'm assuming it's around $75k pa?

Quite annoyed that I'd signed up for the 90K points/$4k spend promotion… nevertheless this is a pretty good deal!

  • annual fee kills it as theres no travel credit in return

    • but you get 100k points, there's still a lot of value in this card. Even if you pay 3k to your family member paypal with 2.4% fee, it is still worth it. Quick way to get points.

      • nah man, there's been heaps better cards and there will be again if there isn't already.

        • Like what besides the ANZ one?

My ANZ Black expires in January 2018 and I'm currently looking out for a new credit card which has Qantas points as rewards.

        • +1

@HarveySpecter: Not sure what is available currently but I jumped on a NAB one about 4 months ago that was free 1st year and 80,000 rewards points.

My work mate has one Qantas Ultimate, paid around $400 for it and you get about 100,000 points and $400 worth of travel credit.

        • +1

I think the whole point of churning rewards points on credit cards is that you do the best ones first and then progressively sign up for other deals as you aren't allowed to return to some credit card deals. So even if there are better cards out there, churning requires you to sign up to multiple cards in a year.

  • No income requirements for NAB - you just have to pass credit assessment based on the credit card limit.

my 2 cents - if you have already exhausted all other avenues like me then a decent deal. I look at it as 0.004c/point.

    • what are those avenues, i have exhausted only one avenue, amex plat card

the very first card which is a no-brainer is to get the ANZ 75K without any fees and 2 Qantas lounge passes.
The 2nd one I went was the St George 60k or 90K no annual fee in the 1st year if you are an existing customer..Opened a new account (got $50 back for that) and then called up as an existing customer to get 1st year annual fee waived ($99) for 40K points in year one and will probably keep it for the 2nd year to get the residual 20K (would have to pay $99 fee for the 2nd year, not the best value, but one less credit inquiry - if I were to flip the card).
        3. Then I see the new Qantas Master card as good value.
There are few more - but wud say first get these out of your way.
AMX DJ is also good for the signup bonus - (50K MR points for $99, not sure if the bonus amt has been reduced) great value when redeeming those MR points for SPG free nights.
PS - love the explorer as well.

Amex DJ points have been reduced. Still kicking myself that I didn't jump on board early when I saw the promo. Hope it comes back round again. Qantas Premier card now gives 75K points with a reduced $149 annual fee for first year.

        • The St. George existing customer no annual fee offer expired a couple of months ago (unless it's been reinstated recently, but doesn't seem to have).

        • @odysseus: likely, but I applied like 3 to 4 months ago..worth calling the customer care or checking via the online chat..

        • @maverick1:

I had checked myself with them at the beginning of October and told it had finished, and also saw posts in another thread from others confirming they had also been told the same. Hence just verifying you hadn't seen it in say the last couple of weeks.

        • @nightelves: Qantas premier or for the other team, the mid range Virgin card are best bang for buck I recon. Virgin gives 60k points +$129 travel credit for $65.

ANZ 75K without any fees and 2 Qantas lounge passes is still available

        • Is ST george's offer still available? do I have to go to their branch to ask for the offer?

    • +1

$0.004/point*, still decent but not quite as good as 0.004c/point.

thanks mate - good spot..but you got my drift!!

This card in INCLUDED in the NAB shareholder (>500 shares) credit card annual fee waiver. How do I know that? I just asked NAB .. :-) .. !!

    • Funny they dont advertise things like that.. good ol' banks

    • I don't think that applies for the Signature card - only Premium/Platinum and below seems to be waived.

      • -2

According to NAB this card is included in the waiver. But that's just their opinion .. you might know better.

        • I was just referring to the link that you shared above - it mentions only the following cards:
          NAB Rewards Classic
          NAB Low Fee
          NAB Qantas Rewards
          NAB Velocity Rewards
          NAB Rewards Platinum
          NAB Premium
          NAB Qantas Rewards Premium
          NAB Velocity Rewards Premium

So just purchase 500 shares for approx 15k
sign up for credit card and have the $395 annual fee waved
      banking royal commission announced
      sell shares for 12k
But hey you saved that annual fee

      • contacted NAB. Only those on the list are fees exempted. Signature Card NO NO. Must pay.

  • They will normally waive the fee if u just want to cancel after the first year. There way of making u stick around as a customer.

  • Just to note that this card does not come with any complimentary Qantas lounge pass like their ANZ and St George or Westpac counterparts. I applied and assume they did but only to find out otherwise…

  • +1

    waive not wave :)

  • If you cancel it before the year is it free or do you still gotta pay the annual fee?

  • Just wondering for those regular card flippers whats the current nov dec 17 best cards for earning qantas points?

I signed up and met my anz ff black spend so ill be getting 75k points. I have to pay off wedding fees by mid dec so looking for a card to sign up asap and with ok eligibilry criteria in order to meet minimum spend given i wouldnt normally spend 5k on one transaction bar the wedding.

What would one recommend??i saw the westpac altitude black is 80k points for 250 bucks. But used to be 100,000 points? This nab card gives you 100k points but costs 395. Is there a rough guide as to how much qantas pointd are worth? Am wondering if the extra 145 annual fee is worth the 20k points more than westpac. Goal is to get 200 to 250k qantas points for a bix vlass return trip for the honeymoon come 2019.

Any advice on who to go for for the second card given i need it asap

  • I've nab loan and nab signature reward card as a part of loan. Can I add this card to my loan account to get annual fee waived off or is it applicable to max 1 cc?

    • It’s one card per account holder with most packages, including Choice. So if your home loan is in both your and your partner’s names, you can both have one Nab credit card and both will have the annual fee waived.

  • Has anyone had their 100k bonus points credited yet? Does it automatically show up on the next statement or do you have a wait for a while as with St George?

    • To answer my own question, applied late November, reached spend threshold after 3 weeks, points were posted to Qantas account the following week (late December). Great experience (especially compared to St George)!

  • Can anyone advise if they were able to get this offer as an existing NAB customer? I want to cancel my nab velocity platinum card that I get with my choice home loan package and switch to this. However this is in the terms and conditions:

Offer is not available when closing/transferring from another NAB credit card account or in conjunction with any other NAB card offer

Doesn’t list any sorts of dates or anything.. unsure if I could cancel my credit card and then apply for this a few weeks later or what exactly?

  • Just applied for this card over the phone - really easy, took around 10 mins to answer some questions and get approved.
Have a NAB home loan so got the annual fee waived.
