  • Does anyone feel that it makes a crazy noise when using it on the second speed level. mine makes a crick sound when i release the trigger suddenly. i dont think that is normal for a brushless drill. thoughts? anyone?

    • Nah mine doesn't have it. Might be nothing but I'd exchange it just to be safe

  • For anyone looking for a matching Dewalt Impact driver, using 'P5OZZIE' you can pick up a brushless DeWalt DCF886M2-XE for $119.70 delivered.

I bought one at Total Tools in Brisbane for $189.00. They had around 20 or so at this price (11am Monday).

By the time I got home and checked their site for something else, the special price was finished, and the drill was $189.00 skin only!

I talked them into selling me a DeWalt hard case - big enough for this kit plus an extra 2.0ah battery - for $25.00, so I'm happy!

  • 4 left at bunnings northland! They couldn’t find them so they survived the weekend!

    • thx. Bought two. Two left. On top of the shelf hard to find

      • They’re all gone when I checked this morning.

  • There's about three left at Bunnings Mindarie (Clarkson).

For the guys comparing to Ryobi, AEG, Ozito etc, this a trade quality tool with a class leading 70 Nm of torque, see this video for a comparison:

    • Holy cow. The DeWalt is a beast! I can't wait until mine arrives.

      • It's very powerful. Be damn careful when sticking it in reverse to loosen the chuck, I've twice pulled the trigger too hard and the bit went flying across the room. Make sure you're in the low gear and pull the trigger gently.

        • Thanks! Im always doing that to loosen the chuck. Duly noted.

    • I bought the Ryobi $99 drill driver set from Bunnings earlier this year and its been great, performed well beyond my expectations, and done way more than I thought, has heaps of power and the battery life is exceptional. I almost killed it with a major house renovation driving hundreds of roofing screws, but it just keeps on going. Very impressive.

But I got the dewalt on Friday and my god this thing is in another class, ridiculous for a cordless drill, its so smooth and it doesn't stop for anything. My old bosch corded hammer drill will be retired now

      • Ha, I expected this to be a comment saying that your Ryobi is good enough. I must admit, the Ryobi One+ range looks like a good, affordable set of equipment.

My Dewalt drill just arrived today. I agree - it's a beast compared to my old Bosch green set, which will go to the tip.

        • The Ryobi is fine, but the clutch on mine weakened withing 6months use. I would call myself a DIY+ user, a bit heavier use than the avergae DIY but not full tradie. This drill is a god :P

        • @mrillies: I did a few hefty projects with my Ryobi and it's still going strong. Even my batteries are still in top condition. I leave them at 1/2 charge and out of direct sunlight.
But, i'm mightily tempted by this DeWalt. As others said, the 1kg of battery might be a killer.
They're still available at Sydney Tools with free delivery.

  • Still available for $188 at Sydney Tools.

  • Noob question - how do you turn it to the Hammer drill function???

I keep turning it and it seems to not go past 1, im afraid i may break it.

    Any help, thanks.

    • Turn it all the way the other way past 'Drill'
'1' is one end, 'Hammer' is the other.

  • Can anyone recommend me the bits? first time use power tool. I just got my DeWalt . Bought this bits set yesterday.

Found the quality is not good but only $10 cannot complain. The big issue is that the adapter socket driver is not straight. When it is spinning it sways and have destroyed some of the screws. Going to bring it back and ask for replacement. Also think to buy another set. I mainly use for simple carpentry such as put pieces of wood together. Any recommendation? Will this fit my requirement?
