Thanks, got one! Kids have been asking for it to replace their old Wii. We should see a difference in the graphics! That's Christmas (mostly) taken care of. I assume it comes with only one controller in the box though? I still have to keep looking out for a deal on a second controller, and choose a couple of games.
Good time to get some games but haven't seen PS4 Controllers on sale
Is GT Sport the best racing game (they'd like a variety of locations, on road and off road, and a variety of cars, like some older classics)? They will mostly be doing offline play, and I read GT Sport isn't great for that now, but will be after it's next promised patch? Or should I check out a different title instead?
Dunno I don't own a PS4 but have a look at project cars 2 which has good reviews and is cheap atm

gt sport is not looking like a complete game right now, it all comes each month. single player career mode is coming soon.
Wipeout omega collection looks great, futuristic cars/rockets lol
NFS Payback, NFS 2015, NFS Rivals, The Crew 1 and 2 are great games as well. with stories, customisation and more fun.
Rocket League deserves being mentioned because its so cheap and it keeps on giving.
It depends how you define as upgrade. Graphics yes, but Wii has better youngerkids games
They are 10 and 13 now. They still like Wii for occasional fun but they are starting to expect more. :)
Thanks for that info. It looks like they are about $78 here in Aust, or $99 for the gold and silver ones. I think I might just go for the Amazon deal you gave. I doubt they will be on sale here before Christmas at less than that US$38 price anyway, and if I buy the 2 I need, I might save a bit on shipping. I assume the US version is 100% compatible with PS4's bought in Aus, they are all the same worldwide? So the only risk is it's further to send back if there's a warranty problem.

Last question - what about PS4 games, if I throw in one of those from Amazon US, are they fully compatible with the PS4 bought in Australia, or is it better to get the games in Australia because there are regional issues? Or is it better and cheaper to just buy it online via the PS4 with some code?
@Biggles266: no regional issues other than buying/playing DLCs for that game. Games are not region locked but DLCs are, so if you buy a USA game and want to play the dlc of that game in your aussie account, you wont be able to do so, you would have to buy dlc for usa account and play it on usa account.
@yummycoot: Hi, I'm finally getting around to looking at buying games now. Do you advise second hand ones being an OK way to save money if from a seller with a good reputation? I've bought second hand Wii games before, and never had a problem. But I noticed in one of the online photos there was a code inside the game case to download extra content (e.g. an extra battle on Battleground 1). Will codes like that still work to download extra content if buying second hand? The seller didn't know. If not, it might be better to buy new.
@Biggles266: buying second hand is a great way of saving money, lots of people do, i have sold some of my games as well after completing them. Most of the time, the codes will be used, sometimes you will find them unused.
Before you buy any game, just look at what each edition offers(if any), if it offers something that is of interest to you, then its best to buy a new game.

@Biggles266: yes, if the code has already been redeemed, it wont work for another user as most codes are usable only once.
Make sure you set it up beforehand. Having to go through the ordeal of update after update on Xmas eve sucks.
