  • Aus $517.33
I think I saw it cheaper.

I did a quick search and it seems the gearbite one was $585ish. So I am guessing this is a good price?

I do have the first generation robot vacuum and it doesn’t seem like a big step up with the added mop, so will give this a miss. But it’s a handy device to have when you are pressed for time.

    • I agree with you às I have gen 1 too but I so want it

  • +6

Please add approx AUD in title.

  • AUD $ 517.33 free shipping to Aus.

Save a massive 42c if you do group buy lol

    • My bad. AUD $513.73 buy alone and $513.31 group buy. Seriously no point of group buy to save a measly 42c!

      • +8

        You must be new here.

        • Haha. I know what you mean. A true ozbargainer would have used something like a 28 degrees card than pay the inflated sellers AUD price. Would have came to AUD ~$485.80

Anyway the price has now increased.

  • Is it nearly silent when using the mop? I'm really sensitive to noises…

    • +10

Then you are using it wrong…

It's supposed to do the job when you are not home.

  • +5

HUH? - 'The filter is root-inspired when the mopping pad is served as leaves to control water flow like a living organism'?

    • +1

yeah that utterly befuddled me too

    • +1

I think what they're trying to say is that the valve allows water to be vacuumed up but not affect the motor.

  • Perfect!you deserve it.

  • +1

    root-inspired

Sounds like my kind of gadget.

  • Wow, can mop too… Now that's something worth considering

  • +2

I wonder how it handles floor space that has carpet and hard floors. Does it try to mop the carpet?

    • I think it does. The thing is it can detect carpet to increase suction power so theoretically an update could also program it to turn the mop off too when it detects this. It'd still be a bit wet as it goes over.

    • Yup. The mop is a dumb device that will wet anything it goes over. This model does sense carpet but it just increases vacuum power for carpets - it doesn't raise the mop. You could outline the area you don't want mopped but i believe you'll need to do that for every session.

      • +2

Hahah we got very similar comments within 2 seconds of each other

      • The only thing the unit controls with respect to the mop is the water valve. It turns the valve off when charging or stationary. But the mop is wet and would be wet over carpeted areas. The only solution would be to raise it mechanically but that's not going to happen on this model…

    • I remove everything (chairs and carpet) off the floor before leaving the house

even in china, it sold for 3000rmb = 596.97 AUD. as it just came out, ill wait for review a bit.

own the 1st gen, works like wonder.

    • +1. I love my gen 1, be interesting to see what they did with gen 2. If it is better, $500+ may be justified.

      • Quieter, more suction, mopping function.

        • +2

Yes, the specs are easy to see.
Quieter: don't care, it mostly runs when I am at work.
          More suction: might be useful.
Mopping function: could be great. I have wooden floorboards. If all it does is have a cool water reservoir then I can't see it doing an awful lot of good. i have a powerful steam mop I use already. I would love for it to be automated. Can the gen 2 do that? Does it leak? What happens to the dirty water? Does it continue to use the same water if you have a large floorspace, spreading yuck everywhere? can it clean up sticky spills?

Given how good the gen 1 was, I have high hopes. But mopping properly is way more difficult than vacuuming.

        • @skyva: it just lays water down and scrubs - it doesn't suck up dirty water as it's primary function but the water it does suck up goes through some kind of membrane from what i can tell. Don't think it is reused - though if it goes over urine or any other crap that will just get spread around mixed with the mopping water solution…

  • +2

    Soybeans?

    • +1

Yep, don't you leave soybeans all over the floor? Or am I doing it wrong?

  • Does this work in a large space? We have hallway, kitchen, diner and lounge all open so I'm wondering if it would actually figure out how to do it all?

Must take ages if it can

    • -1

      Why wouldnt it?

    • +2

This is where it really shines. The idea is to leave all your doors open and let it do the entire house at once, not move it around to different rooms. I have the 1st gen from the last deal. It maps out your whole house. I left all the doors open and it had no problem figuring out an efficient way to do it all and maps out how it went about doing it. If for example you leave a large box on the ground it will even show an empty space where it couldnt' clean and just cleaned around the box. The map updates in real time.

My house is about 250 sqpm living area with 4 beds/2 baths. Not huge but enough to show that the vacuum can navigate really well.

      • Perfect! I've been waiting for one to clean my driveway.

        • +2

Tell your neighbours to leave their front door open too so when it gets there it can let itself in.

  • +3

how do you get this price? it says 600 odd

  • Unintelligent mopping is a dealbreaker for me. I've had mouldy carpets, i don't want to encourage them, because i don't ever want them again!

  • I tend to leave steel beans on the floor all in a sudden. Luckily I live close to a hospital.

  • Any gen 1 on sale? I want that boT

  • +2

I have used another brand robot vacuum with mop function. I prefer not to have the mop function if it is going to cost me extra. IMO the mop is a breeding ground for bacteria. The vacuum will not be able to rinse the mopping pad. Basically wiping the floor with a dirty mopping pad. Idea is good but the technology is not quite there yet.

    • I think the irobot scooba was a good though pricey attempt. It had separate reservoirs for washing and dirty water, with a rotary brush and a squeegee type rubber blade.

  • A drop of disinfectant in the wash water …no bacteria.

  • +1

Price is saying $624.00. How do you get the $517?
