a lot of us buy basketball shoes from eastbay because of the cheaper price and variety

  • +3

Shipping kills them.. Much better other options around

    • I'm looking for Basketball shorts, can you make a recommendation?

      • not sure about basketball as im not into that .. but size.co.uk had a decent sale recently.

i find that UK online shops have 5 pound shipping options which is pretty good.

    • +1

I would also like recommendations for other options of Basketball shoes.

    • Not in my experience, what are you trying to buy?

That said in the past I've bought more than one pair of shoes so maybe that contributes to it becoming worthwhile for me. Their prices on Nike Jordans are lower than footlocker here before any discount and their shipping is reasonable and super fast - although I would pay less for slower shipping if it were an option.

I'm going to be picking up a whole bunch of Nike dri-fit socks as (admittedly without having tried out any other 'purpose built' socks) I find they are worth the money when you can get them at the right price. YMMV if you don't suffer from swampfoot

      • Nevermind..looking into it closer it is clear things have changed at Eastbay. Very disappointing

  • So unfortunately the checkout is in USD:

    I purchased 3 x Nike basketball shorts / 4 x full sleeve tops (Nike/Generic etc.) which totalled:

    $139 (plus) $29 shipping (minus) 20% discount = $134 USD = $177 AUD = $25 per item delivered

Not crash hot, but not super expensive either.

I'd say you could get these at the same or similar rate at a factory outlet sale in OZ or at a place like (DFO, Birken Head, TK Max) but you will need to shop around for it.

Eastbay used to be good when the aussie dollar was higher but now it's not worth it unless they have something you want that's heavily discounted.

  • I put a pair of shoes in my cart, and 10 minutes later when checking out it tells me they've removed it from my cart because the item is no longer available. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Eastbay is crap, not like it was many years ago when it was dollar 4 dollar. Also I've noticed prices have gone up on some items, best to pay a little extra and buy from an aussie store

  • Thanks for the post OP, Eastbay is expensive, just curious where do everyone buy their basketball shoes from?

  • +2

    Love eastbay..
Most of my clothes i have purchased from them lol.

I know shipping kills it, but with the 20% discount it still works out cheaper than purchasing in Aus.

  • 25% off deal with a purchase of 75$ or more with GET25
