Google Home - $142 Delivered ("With AU Version Features") @ DWI Digital Cameras

50

$147 after Paypal Surcharge. It says "with AU Version Features", and the details say "AU Version", but DWI usually sells grey import, so they may mean it acts the same as an AU version.

I am just shotgunning the privacy concerned/scared people’s comments. :)

    • Why am I am paying $(Insert amount) to let ASIO, ASIS, ASD, DIO, DIGO and the ONA spy on me?

    • The microphone can be turned on at any time to monitor my mind-numbing conversations.

    • Very soon we will become a nanny state, and the thought police will take away our freedom.

    • Safe School program will soon force all people to be Bi and Muslimu, through the same sex education. Stop sleep walking into our own destruction!!

At this stage I think the risk that my Xiaomi products will take over my home in an upcoming invasion is greater, so my mind is at ease with my Google Homes.

      • I feel Xiaomi drags its feet with giving english support on its products, Xiaomi has created some great hardware, then just does not bother with english version at all. :(

They're learning English by spying on you. Taking some time though struggling to pick up Aussie slang

My lights are hooked up through the Google Home. Can turn lights on/off, change colour, brightness, etc.
My previous phone was a Xiaomi, and during the China Sea debacle last year I half expected it to go rogue on me one day. But totally worth it at that price!

        • @Make it so: would Google home be able to connect to Yeelight? I'm not a very savvy tech person, but would be cool if this could turn off/on the xbox, ps4 and TV!

        • @kza2610: Yes. You can add it as device.

    • Almost nothing compared to Facebook's latest attempt to hoodwink their users:

  • Has anyone used a Google Home to cast music to speakers using chromecast audios, and if so do the Home's volume/track touch controls work to remotely control other devices?

    • You can change the volume of the casting device by voice command, which I have to do on my Chromecast as it has audio clipping at full volume.

      • Yeah so does mine! At first I thought it was the Sony speaker but clearly not.

        • Mine is a Chromecast 1. I blamed my stereo at first too, but I then realised I have to lower the Chromecast volume to about 75% to prevent it.

This is also available through DWI via Catch's marketplace for $142.00; I didn't go through the whole ordering process, but it looks like there's no paypal surcharge.

  • JB HI FI were kind enough to price match this for me! Amazing!

    • JB Hifi Chadstone Vic denied my attempt saying DWI is overseas :(

      • Oh really? I went to JB Hi Fi Chadstone but the one where Bunnings and all the homemaker shops are on warrigal road. I showed them the Harvey Norman post which still linked to the original ebay price of 146 and the DWI one and they matched the 142 price!

        • dann it, the harvey norman one may work, do you mind giving me a link to the HN post you mentioned?

@voldemort: Of course. I used this link! It will work for sure! It must be a cache issue, but looks and is totally legit for viewing.
