Nintendo Switch Consoles $379.05 @ JB Hi-Fi (w/ Wicked Wednesday Coupon)

970

JB are having a one day sale which includes a 5% off Sitewide, this is sent into your email if you’re a email subscriber, can sign up anytime.

Who knows but HN might price match if you mention the 5% off Sitewide code through signup.

$2 more expensive than the Gamesmen deal but perfect if you have discounted JB gift cards or want the console right now. You can get 6% off GC’s using RACQ rewards which is $26 per year minimum, so with this you could get the console and a membership for $382 which has ongoing rewards.

If you’re already subscribed then the console is $353.

As always, enjoy!

  • Can you explain that RACQ thing?

    • you sign up to RACQ and purchase giftcards for a 6% discount

    • Thought I explained it well but anyway:

RACQ have a rewards program now with discounted gift cards and one of the perks is 6% off JB. The minimum cost to signup is $26 per year, and with this purchase you’re nearly covering that cost instantly. The GC’s are sent instantly pretty much so it’d essentially be $382 in total for the console and the membership. Which isn’t too bad.

why do i feel like it’s getting cheaper by the hour.. if i refresh ozbargain tmr will i see it for $200? lol

    • It will be foc tomorrow.

    • Someone posted a 10% off eBay code.

If you use this code to discount the switch from gamesman the total cost would be $358.

That stated the eBay code was removed from this site because it was unverified.

      • Where abouts can I find it

      • It was the T&C’s for COZZIE which ended a while ago.

        • Honestly, I was hoping that was not the case… Optimism be dammed.

    • +1

Probably because amazon is selling it for $399 which was the cheapest in Aus at the time.

      • +1

I don't understand why that deal was upvoted so much when it's no where near the cheapest it's been; multiple deals have been cheaper

        • At the time, the cheapest available was $440odd @ JB. It WAS a deal.

  • Ohhhh man. Time to use my $200 gift card.

    • Hehe I just used mine man

      • +1

Just remembered I got an extra $10 JB Coupon for when I got the $200 gift card! I'd be stupid NOT to buy one!

Will it more cheaper on boxing day?

    • It might be. But I don't expect it to stay in stock for long.

I remember the Wii U firesales at Kmart and Target. Each store had 3 units and sold out within a minute of opening.

  • Used to be able to get gift cards with a normal RACQ membership. Now they try and squeeze another $25/yr out of people. No thanks.

    • +2

You get it with a normal membership? I just mean for anyone who doesn’t have a membership that’s the cheapest way to access it lol.

      • Ah your right. Didn't realise you needed to register on the rewards site even if you're logged into the racq portal already.

Sometimes it pays to be patient.

    • +1

Still happy to have got mine on launch night. Of course $100 in my pocket would be nice too but no regret at all.

    • +1

I am trying my hardest to be even more patient, this deal I'd bite but I want a switch + game under $400 end of year, unlikely but never know…

      • I reckon (am hoping) there will be a 10% sale on Amazon/Ebay/other for Xmas or sometime soon.
Considering the standard price now is $399 and just yesterday it was about $349-369, I'm hopeful we'll see a sale at $359 soon!

      • Same here…

  • I was just discussing with the missus today the idea of buying this for the kids for xmas.

I saw the amazon offer but this definitely beats it and we can use the $200 gift card we got from the Telstra deal

What about games for this? I gather there are no games bundled with it and that we have to buy separately?

Any recommendations what to get for kids of the ages, 6 & 11?

    • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a great start for kids. Even four year olds can play it with all the assistive settings enabled and believe that they're taking part.

      • MK8D is SO fun online. Amazing.

    • definitely have a look at super mario odyssey and mario kart 8 deluxe.

mario kart 8 is amazing fun with friends

      • I was just looking at super mario odyssey as it was listed on JB's site.

I think I will be getting this for them for a start.

Thanks for for your input guys

  • Nice. I got the Switch + Zelda for $425ish after the 5% JB + 6% RACQ discounts.

    • Do you get the e-gift card straight away or it takes hours to your email?

      • It's immediate. (It does warn it could take 72 hours, but I think that is to cover them)

        • I've had EB ones take 5 days. Contacted them when it was over about 4 hours and the gift card provider for EB was down. Risk is definitely there if you are buying them for a particular sale etc.

  • If you're signed up for AGL Rewards, they are also doing 6% on e-Gift cards for JB.

  • Can you give us the link for subscribing mail list, and the link in the email ad? I guess we need both to get the 5% off.

  • anyone knows if you get the e-gift card straight away or it takes hours to your email?

    • Every time I’ve bought them they’ve been instant.

  • You could also buy Woolies vouchers with cash rewards for 5% off and use those to buy jb hi fi vouchers.

    • isn't there a cost to the cards themselves? roughly $5 which negates the savings

      • Is there? Oh I didn't realise that. Haven't actually signed up to cash rewards yet myself.

        • +2

          No cost.

I purchased a jb gift card at woolies to get mario kart 8. 5% off egift and then 5% off again at JB.

      • Not with e-gift cards

  • SO probably a total newb question but I'll ask before I manage to stuff things up. Want to get the deal using the RACQ gift card method….so after signing up to that would I need to buy how many $$$ worth of gift cards? Also can gift cards be redeemed online or would I need to go instore as that's not an option today. Really want to grab a Switch as I'm moving soon which creates a longer commute to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    • Not a problem, after signing up you would just go into the Rewards portal and add the JB Hi-Fi cards to cart, it isn't in any particular denominations so you can just put $379.05 on the Gift Card. Purchase them at the checkout and they will be added to your virtual wallet in RACQ, this will include the GC number and PIN. They work in-store or online so you can redeem then online and get it delivered or C&C.

      • You are a LEGEND

        • No worries, enjoy your new console and the RACQ Rewards :)

      • So once I would buy the cards through RACQ, they would give me a number & pin that I can put in the payment details when buying through JB? Sorry just a little confused

        • +1

Sorry it's a bit hard to explain. Yep so in the JB checkout phase you have this field. The RACQ rewards purchase comes with this information and you just input it there once the GC's have gone through the system (usually instant). Hope that helps!

        • @doweyy: Got it to all go down, $418 for Neon Switch + Odyssey. Paid and all, still says pending on JB's end but thats probably a mere formality. Many must be doing this as website kept crashing for me so I had to make the purchase on my phone, only way it would work!

        • @VLine90:

Would just be their system processing all the orders, enjoy!

  • +2

If anyone is interested in the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle game, it's $39. Just add it to the cart together with the switch.

  • Got the switch 379.05 just pending on jb’s end. Got it as a Christmas present so will be eagerly waiting till the 25th to rip it open.
