Wow, smashed it Xiaomi Smart Wireless Switch $5.04 AUD https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/348310

  • How’s the Tronsmart compared to the Blitzwolf one?

    • At that size the Blitzwolf would have 1 coil instead of 2 in the Tronsmart and is flat instead of mounted. This one should run much cooler take takes Type-C instead of MicroUSB for faster input.

  • $6.99 USD seems expensive.

  • can you match the deal on the switch ? im after 2x

    • I can try tomorrow when Geek are back. May not be possible as it would likely lead to making a loss.

    • me too

  • Me three

  • I was totally confused by the wireless switch. Surely a wireless switch should be called a wireless/Wi-Fi access point? And it looks like a clone of the UniFi AP too. After visiting the product page I finally realised that this is an electrical button that operates wirelessly. Stupid me.

  • I'm a bit confused on the smart switches, what can they be used for? Turning on smart lights? Do you just stick them on the walls or whereever and they use battery?

    • It's a button that can be programmed to trigger functions in Xiaomi devices connected to the Xiaomi Gateway. You could wake up in the morning and press the button to turn on the Yeelights in your bedroom or turn on the Xiaomi socket connected to your kettle.

This particular switch has 3x events.
      Click
      Double click
      Long click

The switch communicates wirelessly (using zigbee) to the xiaomi gateway.

Each event can be programed on the gateway to a specific action. Eg. Turn on light. Turn off power plug. Turn on radio etc.
