Had a look at previous posts where this was available for the same price through TGG, however that was pick-up only to get it that price. OW have listed this on their eBay store, so now you can get it delivered for one of the lowest prices yet.

  • It will be a lot cheaper when ebay bring out their 15 to 20 % store wide New Year sale discounts if you can wait. Im waiting for the 2nd generation of Google Home that will be more compatible for Aussie users.This is the reason why I try not to be an early adopter for new Tech, as tempting as it may be.

      well, the 2nd generation is Google Max and Mini.

      Google Home is mostly software based. The original device will improve over time.

    • +1

      Google Home is just a speaker. As Google Assistant improves, so will the Google Home. The service is entirely cloud-based.

    • How can it be more compatible?

    noice

  • Wow, chromecast ultra is cheaper than jb’s for more than 5% with free click & collect. Who could resist!
    Thanks op

    • +2

      The one linked in this deal is the Chromecast 2, the Ultra is linked here :)

      • Oops, my bad. Gotta cancel order now. Thanks for letting me know :)

    Are these the new eneloops? or QC35s? IMO, I wouldn't even use this even if I got it for free.

    • +1

      Same.

  • Just wanna know when will they stop doing AD on youtube. My Google home keeps talking to the AD…

    • Have you considered an adblocker?

    My google home has forgotten where I live & gives wrong weather updates & traffic

    • You can update it in the Google Home app

  • Google Home is overrated no better than Alexa

    • -2

      Both State Surveillance turds.

      • +3

        Once we started using smart phones that was the end of privacy as we know it

        • -1

          Depends. This device has been designed for a subset of very specific invasive tasks that a phone can basically do. It is less hackable and basically less useful outside of this very specific range of tasks. You can still get some semblance of privacy with a phone or tablet. You just have to really work at it.

    • +1

      Google Home is much more conversational based. Alexa forgets what you're talking about every question. ie.

      Ask Google Home

      "How old is Andre Agassi?"
      * Google Answers *
      "Where was he born?"
      * Google Answers"

      Alexa doesn't know you're still talking about Agassi with the 2nd question, and won't answer - Google does.

      • Okay but is that really worth $120 ? I understand you can create home automation but thats more money for lights and add ons and time.

        • The point isn't how much it's worth or how useful it is. This product is Google's way to 1. Remain competitive against other tech giants even though this doesn't matter much because they already have a big piece of the pie but 2. It's their subtle way in getting (no offense) many foolish people in supporting AI. By using this product, you are helping Google develop their machine learning software which they will eventually put into the form of a robot. Why is AI not a good thing? That's another can of worms.

        • +1

          @gezza90: I want nothing to do with robots and AI. Soon the world will be like the movie I,robot and I won't have enough guns to protect my family
