free calls during the christmas period isn’t new for telstra , it started in the days of expensive std calls to encourage those who had lost touch with family members so they might reach out and call them …… now we have more options as most people have a mobile but i guess some homeless people don’t, and it’s not as easy to call directory services to get a person number now either if they don’t have a pots.

        • Apparently someone found the information offensive.

  • Free WiFi worked. Thanks OP.

  • I hv a telstra free wifi in my area, but somehow all my devices cannot connect to it, let alone login and use it.

  • Just got around to trying it on the home phone. It's a Telstra line…on InContact….but it doesn't work. Oh well. Thanks Telstra.

I can't be bothered walking down the street to the local payphone so I'll just stick with making calls on VoIP.
